"Supporters of the fundamentalist Sadr and Badr militias boast that they are cleansing Iraq of what they call 'sexual perverts'. They are open about terrorising gay Iraqis to make them flee the country and murdering those who fail to leave.

Maybe we should form a Pink Pistols chapter in Iraq. Yes, I'm only half kidding, but I'm half serious in that I've known of the violence toward GLBTQs in the mideast for some time. I knew a transvestite from Egypt who was literally scared all the time. I haven't heard from her since, I hope she's okay.

Do you think Iran is any better?  They kill those that criticize their religion and hide the murders from the press.

I guess I would last 30 seconds in some parts of the Middle East.
