I hate ironing but I love the result. I really don't like to be seen in none ironed clothes.

I generally watch the TV when I'm ironing.

How about the rest of us?

There is a reason I wear madras.  I don't have to iron it.

I was mostly raised by my grandmother, so I have a strange love for ironing!  We actually don't have an iron at the moment, so I feel somewhat akin to naked wearing my wrinkled shirts!

Don't mind ironing, but have started to cull out things that don't really need it.  Just put on a CD and go to it.

Ironing is OK but for a few provisos.

You need a bit of space. Not a lot, but enough for a decent board and a place to put clothes.

You need something to do. If you share an ironing area, it's just an annoying bore. Especially if some guys think it's the ideal place to watch sport on TV, drink like pigs and burp.

You need to avoid the critics. It's quite amazing how many people will criticise your ironing. But throw an iron at their face and they get upset! Where's the justice in that!

Hate.. at least all male collar shirts :p

I basically only iron when I'm making something with The Sewing Machine...gotta have flat fabric when cutting and stitching!

I have been known to do a quickie iron job if my shirt is excessively wrinkly, but I'm usually good about hanging things up in the closet.

Before you're all too happy......I'm just kidding, it's something that has to be done.

I like the way ironing smells. It's interesting.

Also regarding space, I usually just spread a clean towel on the floor or any large enough flat surface and don't bother with an ironing board.

I do it so rarely that last time my daughter was around and saw me ironing her response was "Why are you making your clothes flat?"

I iron on a "iron this before I wear" basis. I couldn't stand to iron more than a few minutes at a time

I don't really get it.  It seems like anything unwearably wrinkly can be fixed in the next load of laundry.  I am, however, a fan of extreme ironing.

I have heard of this and it is so funny. It is the sort of 'What will people think of next' story.

How someone takes an ironing board up a mountain!!! I think I saw one on a tightrope as well.

They must have really long leads to reach the electric plug though

I'm an iron as I go girl.. Standing around for ages doing ironing drives me nuts..

Just had a thought of Iron men, those cute guys wearing budgie smugglers running around and getting hot  sweaty.

Ironing is prohibited at our house 

I have ironed my own clothes since I was about 14, and told my mother I didn't want creases ironed in my jeans.  Her reply was I could do it myself from then on, so being bloody minded I did.

I remember growing up, my grandmother would iron even our socks and underwear. I could never. I hate it. As soon as my clothes get dry in the dryer, I either fold or hang them up right away so they'll be wrinkle-free.

I used to hate it, but taught myself to enjoy it. When I started a job that required pressed clothes I began a routine of ironing while watching a movie on TV every Saturday afternoon. I've always limited TV watching, for the most part, to when I'm eating alone or ironing. I actually would look forward to it. These days I'm self-employed and not  don't wear pressed stuff as often but every so often I get the board out and catch a flick.
