Well as my name says I am the daughter of ftm
I find it interesting that there are soo many resources for parents and partners and spouses but I have not seen much for children.
What's with that?
*shrug*

Anyway
I managed to find my way here kind of by surprise. I was actually working on a term paper and I saw the door here was open and wandered around and thought I might learn a lot by hovering around(not so much for school but for me personally)


I'll try to come up with a better intro at some point

Welcome to Susan's Daughter. There are "childrens" forums here, I am not sure they are age appropriate for you but peek thru and see if there is anything of value for you there or in the regular forums. This SO forum is inclusive to children of the TG so make yourself comfortable.
We don't have a lot of TG's children here at this time so if you know others in your position, invite them in, help build those forums. As a child of someone who is TG you have much to offer in the way of support and advice and even unerstanding.
If you need anything please let us know and we will do what we can to help.

I am the S.O. to Leah, also a MtoF on the journey of transition, Leah also is my spouse of 26 almost 27 years. Although I hadn't known for 20 of those years of these TG issues. We have her 5 adopted children and my 3 sons. Can you imagine being that many years in those close relationship and none of us knew.
Your right there isn't alot of information out there readily availible for the children without really digging for it. Once you've educated yourself more here reading in the forums and you get a better feel for constructing your questions or stating your emotions and feelings then take them to the one person that can help you communicate and grow the relationship. Others here that are MtoF or their family members will share what they think and feel here but when it comes down to it each relationship is so unique which means at some point when your ready the best person to communicate with on these issues touching your life is your Birth Father on the MtoF journey.

I had to go back and edit my post because I had one heck of a typo.
As I was reading through some of the replies I got confused and took another look at my post and realised I said I was the daughter of an mtf and that was sooooo wrong

I have no children, but if there's anything you need to ask that you're not comfortable asking your parent about, about FtM transition, I don't mind answering it. And there are no dumb questions, plus I'm some dude on the internet you'll never meet, so don't feel embarrassed.

    I am a FtM. I have a teen age daughter. After three months of seperation last year, while she tried to adjust to losing her mom in a outward physical way, she has now lived with me for the last 5 months. It was very hard for her. Still is. To watch me turn into a guy I suppose was not easy. She is at a new school since my transition, so no one knows my past. Everyone  thinks I am her dad. The worse thing for her was I am with her best friends mom. They are not best friends anymore. But that also has alot to do with the other girl's father constantly bashing her mom about being with me, and constanly calling it a lesbian relationship, which iti is not. I have had surgery, and am a legal man. Some people just don't want to understand. Anyway, let me know if I can help. And welcome
