I have been searching hard online for a doctor that will do HRT with informed consent in my state. I cannot seem to find anything. Since I cannot find any in online searches should I just call my local regular family doctors in the area and ask around if they do HRT with informed consent? I hope that doesn't sound like a dumb question.

IC laws vary (wildly) from state to state, and I'm guessing since it's pretty progressive legislation - that you don't have it.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

Not just what part of the state, but which metro area is closest?  In the middle of nowhere you are really unlikely to find anyone.  Even in the cities it is going to be hit or miss.

I've been surprised at the places I've found in the tri-cities.  My PCP is currently monitoring my HRT.  I started self medicating (with E) about 4 months into the therapy process (I'd been on blockers for a year and a half already), because we weren't sure of a "safe/respectful" endo.  After I found my PCP was ok with me being trans, and my therapist said she would be willing to go ahead and write the letter.  My PCP found an endo in the same building that SAID he was ok with trans patients, but somehow 3 months passed without a peep from him.  I'd made several calls and even showed up at his office, until finally his staff informed me in no uncertain terms that he would call me and go away.  Finally on the day I went in for my surgical clearance for FFS my PCP cornered him and asked what was up.  He told her that my letter wasn't good enough because the therapist didn't say I understood it was irreversible, not sure why he couldn't just call her or have mentioned that months ago.  Never mind the fact that I'd been self medicating AND medicated under her supervision for three months or even that fact I was going to have major trans related surgery in 2 weeks.  I need to follow back up with my therapist and make sure she sent the "corrected" letter back in, but I suspect he just doesn't want to deal with me.
Blessed Be!

I live in west TN. Memphis is two hours away and Nashville is about three. Those are the bigger cities around me.

Sorry, I can't be any help since I'm all the way in the tip of the other end.  But surely Memphis has something.  Actually the site owner lives in Nashville doesn't she?  Between those two I bet you can find something.

I have been looking, just no luck yet finding anything about one online. I might call the Nashville glbt group to see if they have any info on one. I hope they know of one.
