Trans Purpose

I often wonder if trans people have a purpose or if we're just a screw up by nature.

There are many animals that can change sexes (we could not have done so without human intervention) and there are reasons for it. It makes me wonder if there is any reason for me being trans. I honestly haven't heard any theories except as to how trans people may come to be, such as the theory of the two hormone bursts one that changes the body, the other than changes the brain.

Like you could justify that gays have a purpose to keep the population down. And women are known to be the carriers of the gay gene so gays will continue to exist.

Bisexuals have a purpose - keeping the peace. Like I heard about this type of monkey/chimp? that has bisexuals in its community and their purpose is basically to keep the peace. So males can have sex with males to stop any fighting over the females.

Any thoughts? Or am I the only one who thinks about this stuff in detail?

A test of Faith has been the only way Ive seen it in my life.
I guess for it to have a functioning purpose in my life, Id have to view being "trans" as different to how I do now, as atleast something I would look as being a purposeful part of my existence and not something I just want to fix, and never think about or identify with.
So, I dont know if I could ever see it as having a purpose, like what youre questioning (although I personally havent heard of the gay or bi things either. But its not something I look into).
But then again, I do think I view it all differently to some on here.

But it is an interesting thought youve come up with.

For me personally I don't think it was a purpose to it unless sometime in the future I use it to help thousands of others somehow.  Other than that the best thing that I can come up with is that "it happens"

As far as I am concerned life itself has no intrinsic purpose, but is given a meaning by our consciousness.   Rocks and plants exist but have no meaning as such, but because are conscious beings, we do.
We are free to make of it whatever we choose, and should accept responsibility for our choices.  Also, our purpose or life's meaning is everchanging, until the point where we  ourselves stop changing, and die.

I think if there is to be meaning and purpose to it, I have to put it there.

During my transition, I've had some thoughts along this line.

For one thing, since beginning transition, I have experienced love and friendship far beyond what I would have expected, or thought to exist.  And I have thought sometimes, maybe I was meant to go through this, to give me that opportunity to experience that.

Also, there have been many opportunities to teach others about what being trans is all about, and I always enjoy doing that.  I love having a conversation with someone who is asking intelligent questions with an open mind and honest curiosity, even if the questions are somewhat personal.  I have never been asked about my genitals.

I also enjoy helping others who are in the early stages of their transition.  I think sometimes this might be part of my purpose.  It certainly seems like a good thing to come out of my own journey, and one for which I am particularly thankful.

So I guess from my POV, there are a number of possible ways to look at it.  I do NOT ever think my life is useless or wasted (used to, tho).  I used to think (in my early transition, about a year ago or so) that I would not wish this on my worst enemy - I viewed it as a horrible tragedy.  Now, however, I see it as a wonderful adventure, and a ceaseless opportunity.  YMMV...  :)

Well no, I mean a purpose in nature. Such as trees have a purpose, they take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. I don't feel purposeless as a person, well sometimes because I'm unsure what is considered 'purposeful' in life, but I mean as a trans person. Straight people reproduce, that is their purpose, to make sure the species continues. And the main one I can think of for gays is to stop over population. Although, it just occurred to me that there may be a number of creationists on here so you probably don't get this or why I'm interested in knowing.

Trans people may be just an accident, we may have no purpose and I'm fine with that. But I'm curious as to what others think. Do you think we have a purpose in nature? That there is a reason behind the way we are?

Well, I find the idea that gays exist to keep the population down rather offensive, and a number of them DO marry and have children, so I don't think much of that argument. Maybe a more basic question is what is the purpose for humans.

This. and also that bisexuals are for "keeping the peace".  I think  you could ask the question "What is the purpose?" of any condition that occurs to humans.  What is the purpose of any condition or defect any human being is born with?

You're probably talking about bonobos.  They use sexual behavior in a variety of ways including conflict resolution but also in greeting and bonding, among other reasons like procreation.  It isn't just to keep the males from fighting over the females.  Actually, bonobos are a matriarchal species with strong mother/son bonds.  I've been doing a lot of research lately about human evolution and hominids.

I have no comment on the rest of your post.

To the OP, I think that some of your comments are a bit insensitive - but I'm sure you didn't mean to offend.  I agree with what's been mentioned - why single out the trans "condition"?  What about primordial dwarfism or muscular dystrophy?
