I am thinking about getting breast implants. I was just wondering if anyone has them.  if so could you tell me your experience about having breast implants.   Also who was your surgeon? and the reasons why you have them or why you wouldn't like to have them.

Disclaimer Disclaimer Disclaimer! I am not an MD, but I have studied this issue for my own consideration of getting it done years ago (I haven't since I figured my breast size was sufficient for my frame), so I have read literature by MDs and actual cosmetic surgeons. Be advised, this data is *old*, so contact your local cosmetic surgeon for all current literature and FDA facts.

There are +'s and -'s to them.

First, you get a big boost with little investment, they are indeed cheaper than they have been in years [even saline ones]. Second, if you're looking also to get a more uniform shape, implants will help there [maybe more so than they should, but hey]. And those are the only +'s can I think of.

The minus are fairly common to any implants be it for medical reasons or just cosmetic [as this inquiry relates to].

First, infections. Putting anything into your body, that your body is not very familar with will cause this. Either by your immune system attacking the implants or by bacterial infects which accrue either from insufficiently sterilized implants or your own body's bacterial culture. Luckily, anti-biotics are pretty good in handling this situation, but there are a few rare cases where extraction surgery would be necessary to save one's life.

Second, possibility of implant damage. They could get bumped the wrong way some year and then *bang* you got a flat one, maybe not literally, but the fluid will leak and you'll feel it. This too can cause infections, but very very rarely so. That means going back to the doctor to get it replaced [more surgery]. This one is not very common, even for short life span implants [less than five to ten years], but it should be noted that it can happen, it's just the nature of modern manufacturing.

Third, scars. Any surgery on your body will leave a scar or two. Some fade and become barely noticable, others are very bright and evident. There are a couple ways breast implants are put in. They can go through the side [sometimes right on the inside of the arm pits] or through the nipple. The former one tends to be less problematic since you won't lose sensitivity as you would with the latter, but I believe the former also requires the incision to go into the actual pectorial, so the implants get buried deep, which can feel funny to a patient, but it seems such implants look more natural and are smaller too. Both seem to produce similar scars in the respect of noticiability, but the arm pit one has the advantage of it being out of plain sight [it's not like everyone stares at one's arm pits on the beach and etc].

All in all, there's many other things to take into account beyond the dry textbook medical concerns [aesthetics, goals, and etc], but I thought these little facts would be useful in your assessment along with the others.

I put that I didn't know, since it would depend on what size my breasts ended up within the first year after SRS.  If they don't fill out anymore than they already are, then it would be a yes.

Would I consider breast implants? YUP I have them. BA done By Dr. Chettawut in Bangkok when I had my srs. Physical appearance with my breasts is much improved seeing as since my "grown" ones were a B cup and I have a C or D sized body frame. Currently a D cup barely. Which is perfect for me in my opinion. BA or not to BA is like Tink said a personal decision. The BA was done via inserted under the arm pits. Approx. 7 months later I can see that the scars from the insertion is healing. Pillow style implants rather then formed due to my stockier body style with my natural breasts being further apart and the pillow's giving them more of a closer together/cleavage appearance.

Another big minus is that for many people (just about all of my old TS friends) had encapsulation where they get hard.  My surgeon showed me how to break the internal scarring by squeezing the living daylights out of them until they popped.  With encapsulation, your breasts become hard.

Give up sleeping on your stomach when you have them. It's like sleeping on tennis balls.

I have no visible scarring.  I had them done through the arm pits.  They look alright but with my natural growth, I ended up with more than I wanted.

They were great for a few years... but now I wish that I had not had the augmentation.

I've decided that I wouldn't want breast implants, I would end up being too paranoid that they would break and leak.

I considered them and passed until I'm done racing. After that, well, maybe. My breasts seem small for my frame but Andi likes them so there's no reason to change them. But I'm still thinking about it...

I'm new here, sorry for jumping in.....

I checked that "I didn't know" and here is my reasoning:

I am scheduled for SRS in June with Dr Chet in Bangkok and was originally going to buy the package deal where he provides srs and bas in one surgery.  But my breasts have grown, and are still growing fairly consistently since starting on HRT 2.5 + years ago.  I am now a natural B+ and am to the point where I am starting to look at C cups.  So I cancelled the BAS portion of my surgery, so that I could give my breasts another year of natural growth to see where they will end up.   At this point I am able to wear tank tops with no bra and my breasts look good.....not magnificant, but ok.  There is no question when people look at me that I am female.  And in reality, I would rather have nice natural breasts than silicon or saline ones anyway.

Ask me again in a year  ;D

Pam, you should talk to Melissa.  I believe she is also having her SRS in Thailand, but I am not sure if it is with Dr. Chet or someone else.

I was thinking about them as I posted a note here as to where to find some adhesive ones so I could see what I looked like. I have decided at this point not to have the agmentation done. I seam to be happy with my breast and they are very sensitive. I like that feeling, and not sure if you would have the same after surgery.
I am a woman so I can change my mind at any point.

I would echo Debs thoughts HRT has been kind to me I am between a B and C cup my nipples are very sensitive [there pierced] and all my clothes look fine on me.

To Have a B or C cup is great. I know GG's that would die to have a B cup. I was ecstatic when I developed B cups. When I reached C cups I was in shock. This little body of mine did this. I had the help of of HRT. It has been my friend. Anything that helps me cope I am happy with.

Also I would like to thank all of you for coping with me and my crazyness. I am young and carefree and at this point anything goes.

Pamela Anderson not. I would not wish to those big mamas anywhere.

No way. I find the idea of it gross. Bags of gel inside you? Ewww.

If I had zero development I'd consider it but I've hit a small 34B in 7 months HRT and I'm fine with that, I don't feel a need to look like a pornstar.

I think I am very fortunate to have developed a respectable pair of nearly C cup "girls" in 2.5 years of HRT...... and still growing.

But there are many of us who never seem to develop naturally, and I can surely understand them wanting BAS.  I know of one girl who was on HRT for over 3 years and was still a triple flat.  She got BAS and is all the happier for it.

Whatever needs to be done I guess

To each our own in our decisions on whether BA or not. They were the right thing for me to do, they won't be the right thing for everybody. Same as SRS is not right for everyone. I think my breasts are just about perfect now, where I would otherwise hide them under clothes. I can now be myself and not feel the need to hide under clothing. (Nudist with porn starlette breasts, heehee).

For info Melissa (I got her permission to post this) will be going to Dr. Chet in March. Lucky me will then have an excuse to make a third trip over too Thailand.

Hmmm, I dunno. I actually *don't* want large breasts. Just... enough. I'm not sure yet what that means in real life. I'd probably settle for a bit less than what I'm hoping for, rather than go with a BA. But if in two years I don't have any more than what I have now, then yes, I'd probably do it though.

I seriously dont know...  I know I can hit a B again through HRT and those looked great on me.... wouldnt be supprised if I could even get to a C....  I love the sensitivity and I wouldnt want to loose any of that through an unnecicary surgery.... and finaly it takes about 3years of HRT to know what your really going to get.... so wait the 3 years first and see how you feel afterwards  :)

I did mine at a time when I needed to show my family that there was no going back. And so, for some of the wrong reasons, I was influenced to jump right into it.  At the time, it was a real ego boost for me.
