When police arrived they found Cole, who is a volunteer firefighter in Wayne Township, in his truck.

The truck has emergency lights, but police say they were not turned on.

Police say Cole told them he was on his way to a gay bar in Dayton to perform as a woman for a $10,000 prize.

They charged him with drunk driving, having an open container, public indecency and disorderly conduct.

"The important thing to note is he could have killed someone at twice the legal limit," Mason city prosecutor, Robert Peeler, told 9News. "And I think there must be some mental health issues considering these facts."
