Currently watching the movie on Netflix. Anybody else on here seen it? It's really good!

I've partly watched it. I've heard it can be heartbreaking to some as well. But I found what I had seen to be pretty powerful stuff.

I have.  I liked it, but it's difficult to watch because so much obviously hits home.

It's definitely a powerful movie and I will definitely have to prepare the tissues soon!

Mhmhm.

I cried too hard at this movie.
Even though I'm not ftm.

I never shed a tear in an MTF movie though. Odd :P

i don't like being constantly reminded of this movie, something my mom likes to do on occasion. but i felt really uncomfortable reading "It's really good!" umm, brandon was raped and murdered. that movie is powerful and moving but incredibly sad and should come with a trigger warning. i'm sorry but it's kinda like me popping over to the ladies thread and saying, "have you seen the Gwen Araujo story? it's really good!"

I'm sure when they said it's really good they were not referring to brandon being raped and murdered. Don't take it to heart. I thought the Gwen Araujo movie was good and I'm MTF. It shows people how we're normal and just want to live our lives but cold-hearted people exist and cause us harm because of it.

I think these movies are good for opening up people's eyes and for them to stop thinking Jerry Springer every time they hear the word transsexual.

I know, :/ the water heater got me up early so I may have been extra touchy so I'm sorry if I came off like an ass. But I still hate being reminded of these stories, they skew my parents thought process. I like seeing success stories on YouTube :)

Great movie, but really sad as others have said.

It was an impressive movie.

Generally, in the US movies and media, they seem to be more tolerant of violence, but very picky on sex and eroticism.

Barbie~~
Just do it.

have seen it but didnt like it.

it might have been cause of my age, I got the felling this was what would happent to me as being trans.
because of that I didnt like it.
I liked soilder girl better, also very sad, but also very beutiful.

My favorite trans movies are still non of these, Romeos, and beutiful boxer, or la vire en rosa.
I like them when they have some sort of happy ending,

OH GOD Soldier's Girl ;_____; I cried when I watched it, and I never cry over movies.

Boys Don't Cry was really good too. I watched a documentary about Brandon Teena after watching the movie, and it made it just that much more upsetting.

When I posted that this movie was really good I never meant the rape scene. I just think that the whole production of the movie and the awareness it shows is really good. Also I understand this movie is hard to watch for some of you and I completely understand. I like to think though that our past makes us stronger, and I know all of you are so much stronger now! :)

Honestly I just heard about that movie last semester in my Criminal Justice class.  We had to watch documentary.  I'm surprised I don't remember too much about the commentary from the class afterwards.
