Hi let me introduce myself

my current male name is Shane I am going to look to change it to abbie in the near future. I am 21 and live in london I have been thinking all of my life I was born in the wrong body and that I am female as that is how I identity even though I have a male body which I want to change as I have been to my doctors and made the decision to be referred to see a specialist to get treatment to eventually come fully female. this has not been a easy one my brother and housemates know I want to transition to a female and fully support me 100% I have not spoke to my parents but I know I have a very supportive family who will understand and help me. I am very glad I have come across such a welcoming forum I found this through a google search and I spent the last 6 hours reading the forum before now making the decision to join the forum and go through with what I have always wanted.

Hi abbie,
Another warm Aussie welcome to Susan's. You'll find we are just as supportive as your family are. We are pleased you have found us trustworth to share an important part of your life with us.

You've got yourself off to a good start with the Doctor and a very supportive family. Hope the rest of your journey is just as good. Look forward to hearing more from you in time to come. In the meantime, be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Hi Abbie, welcome from darkest Devon :). Susan's is a good place to be, and I wish you a smooth crazy journey - just remember everyone close to you is transitioning with you, and it'll be more smooth and less crazy :).

Hi and welcome from another Aussie girl.  We actually like Poms, otherwise we wouldn't have a go at you so much. :-*
It's great you have got off to such an accepting start.  You have been extremely brave in facing the issue and coming out to yourself, and then those close to you.  It gets easier every time you do it.
Trust me, you are going to enjoy being a girl. I wish I was 21 again, and as for living in London! Loved it when I was there.

Karen.
