It was a busy news day in Montreal  . . . I'm just catching my breath, and sharing a few thoughts . . .

We've often talked here about separating the T from LGBT, because ->-bleeped-<- is all about gender identity, while the others are about sexual orientation. The concern has been that people are confusing ->-bleeped-<- with sexual orientation — and it is a fact. It happens.

But my view is changing — indeed, has changed — on separating the T from LGBT, and I no longer think we should move in that direction. Perhaps it is because my sexual orientation is not heterosexual, and as I explore this facet of my earthly being with others like me, I am understanding their struggles to first, come to terms with their sexuality, then come out to the world and deal with pretty much the same prejudice and discrimination trans people face. In short: LGB people often experience the same sorts of struggles trans people are faced with.
