and why aim to be a " average " woman when you can be better than average . different/ unique is better and more attractive than just being another boring/ standerd face in the crowd

I don't get this obsession in the trans community over height either.  Here is a clue people, why do you think shorter girls wear 4 inch heels? Being tall is NOT a bad thing. OK if you were 6'5"+ maybe but I'm 5'11-6' tall and see plenty of younger women taller than me. I wore 2 inch heels today and I'm sure no one clocked me. Now most of the older women are shorter it seems but this in and of itself isn't going to make you unpassable. Like Bird said it's the whole package, clothes, your style, how you move, and mainly your voice from my experience. Get on HRT, get your voice right and stop freaking out over this height nonsense. Would someone seriously section their leg bones to try to make themselves a few inches shorter thinking this would make them pass? O.o I guess this seems as odd to me as the people who want a rib removed..

When I was in college, I knew a ciswoman who was 6' tall and a tomboy to boot. (i.e. she tended to wear flannel shirts, jeans, and cowgirl boots most of the time and was almost never seen in a skirt or dress)  She never had any trouble getting a date and was actually quite popular with the other college guys, who were almost all shorter than her by quite a bit.

Tall can be womanly. Tall can be beautiful. It's not what you have, it's what you do with it.

For myself, I like the petite look and I'd love to be around 5'0" to 5'2" (I'm 5'6" - which is pretty average for women around here), but I'm not about to mess around with my leg bones. I think the drawbacks way outweigh the potential benefits.

I was 6'2" by the time I was 12, so I got used to being horribly visible and self-conscious, and it took a long time to get happy with my height even after everyone else my age caught up. These days, I regularly see young women as tall as me. Actually I would still sometimes be happy to be shorter, but being serious, that's mainly because there's a lot more choice in clothes for average-height women.

My best friend ("normal woman") is 5'11"... and she LOVES to wear heels when she goes out. She actually really loves that she is tall (and gets hit on ALL the time). Being short is definitely not a factor for being a woman.

I suppose it depends what country and area you live in? I'm 5'7" and I'm taller than most women I see in the area of the United Kingdom I live in. The average height of women around here is about 5' 5".  Many women here are very small boned and petite with very small hands and feet. I look like an Ox in comparison.

But I think in America people are generally taller, both male and female! So I'd probably look small over there?

There seem be a lot of tall women in my part of Devon .

Yes maybe Padma? I've noticed taller women in the west part of England and in London. But I bet on average there are many small women too? I'm in Scotland and I seem to be taller than the average female and I'm 5' 7" tall.

Same where I live in the north of England. I once worked with a girl who was easily as tall as me (6'2") and often wore heels to make her taller.

I think part of it is owning your height. People often stand out more if they feel self-conscious and deliberately try not to. That seems more noticable for some paradoxical reason (maybe body language or something). Those who own their height, and get on with living life... well, they're the ones who usually aren't given a second glance. It's a natural thing, so just be natural and people seem to react accordingly.

Nope, that's not too tall at all.  I'm 5'10" and I'm biologically female.   It seems like a good height and many people always comment on it and say how they wish they had my height.  Yes, it can be hard to find pants, but some places have big and tall stores or sections so it's not too terribly bad.   

On the heels comments:  I loved to wear heels and I did for the longest time!  I can't wear heels now due to having had surgery on my toes so wearing heels sucks royally now, but I miss them.

why wish to remove height?

all the most beautiful women are tall, i am the other end of height down near the ground and i would of always wanted to be much taller.

If it is a passing thing too, there is a senórita a genetic senórita who live 2 door form my workplace around 6.5 she looks like a girl nothing out of the normal

also when i have srs, i was surrounded by very tall senórita's all getting their own surgery...never once did i think one looked anything but female, i was in awe if i am truthful and actually helped me work on my own apperances much more to the point i now melted away into the crowd

we all desire something we can never have at times, make the best of what you possess now and you will find most often it was more then enough to be happy
