My previous post was on blood work and cost..
I ended up paying 300..yeah not exactly what I wanted but it was the least expensive around here so please save me from getting more pissed and don't tell me of cheaper places now thanks :)

Anyway with that said since I busted my cash on one thing, I'm now concerned that I wont have enough money left to even buy t once I finished with these steps to begin t...so really how much is. Vial of t? If it differs then what is the range?

Cause really I have another dr visit to talk about t dosage + pap smear which would be I hope just another 150 similar to my first visit. Then after the dr will order t ( do you guys know if the dr visit price will include the t or is that another thing to pay for?) Once ordered I return for 3rd visit and get first shot. Yeah easier said than done, though this is how the dr explained it.

Sorry a bit lengthy I just want to get an idea/ estimate of how much this will cost me. So I can start hustling now.

T is a separate payment from the doc appointment. As far as cost, if you get your doctor to fax the prescription to the online pharmacy Stroheckers, I think the price is around 60-70 for the T and needles. I'd elaborate but am typing on my phone. Hope it helps anyways.

Strohkers or something is $50 which would last between 5 months to a year. A CVS would be $120. Call local pharmacies.

T is another thing to pay for.  Almost any medication for a doctor's office/clinic/hospital is going to be more expensive than buying it elsewhere.  Strohecker's is about $60 for a 10 ml vial.  Since you're in CA, you might want to try MOMS Pharmacy (Arch has mentioned this before).  Here's a list of the different ones in CA:

When I went without insurance I spent 90 dollars on a 10mL.. that was at Rite Aid

You can get it cheaper online and at mom and pop pharms.... also, I spent 20 on a pack of 100 needles on Amazon

I get mine from Howard Brown Health Center's in-house Walgreens for $35, but there's a compounding pharmacy that will ship out of state for not much more than that, unless something's changed super recently.

That sounds great, but how many mLs is the vial?  If it's only 1ml (single use) or 5 ml, then it doesn't seem worth it.

Yeah I get my T from Strohecker's (super nice folks!!) and pay $59.95 total  for T and all the gear. Mine is a 10mL vial and lasts me about 5 months. Gets shipped from Portland OR and gets to me in Florida 2 days after I order it. My doc faxes in my scrip.

I'm curious about this too... at 10ml this would be a great deal.

I've gotten my last few vials from Strohecker's but this last time when it came I noticed there was less T than usual. I called and they assured me it was fine and that they actually put a little over 10mL. Sure enough, I got 3-4 shots less than usual (I double-checked the dates to make sure) and my dose hasn't changed. I found this super frustrating since they made me feel like I had done something wrong when I called when clearly this was their mistake. I think I'm gonna go back to getting it locally.

Yeah it really does... Bahzi here mentioned his friend had a similar thing happen with Strohecker's. What bothered me the most was how smug the dude was, like there was no way they could've made a mistake. Besides this incident I've had a great experience with them so I don't know what to think  :-\

->-bleeped-<-! Ugh I hate to hear that.

You have a back-up place, though?

See, my insurance covers prescriptions and it'd be quicker to go to the Pharmacy, so I'm not sure which way to go.  I've heard a lot of people talk about Stroheckers, but a Pharmacy near me would be a million times closer.

If your insurance covers the script and you're able to have it paid for, why order online? I only order from stroheckers because it's cheaper than the place down the street including shipping. If my insurance covered my T and stuff I'd just go to CVS or something up the street. Be aware that Stroheckers does give you needles, vials, alcohol pads etc, but it isn't enough for the full 4 or 5 months of the life of your vial. It's probably only enough for 2 months. Luckily that stuff isn't expensive to buy online or at your local pharmacy.

This is true if you do your shot every week.  I do mine every 2 weeks and have never run out of supplies with Strohecker's.

That explains it. I do mine every week.

If your scrip actually specifies that you inject weekly, Strohecker's should give you enough needles. If they don't, try reminding them. Find out what their policy is. If they're used to biweekly injections, they might have made a mistake once or twice.

They used to put lots of extra needles in but seem to be watching the bottom line more now. Still, when I ordered a backup vial from them last year, I got enough needles for weekly injections. Have they shorted you consistently?

Arch--True. I went from injecting bi-weekly to weekly and my # of needles, syringes and alcohol pads was adjusted accordingly.

Good to know!  Thanks Arch.
