I have a question, in Denmark before you can get an genderchange operation,
then you have to go to some phyco test at the Danish Sexologic Clinic.

Some of the question you get is:

1. Why do you wanna go here ?
2. What is youre sexuality?
3. How manny sexpartnere have you had?
4. How often do you have eraction?
5. How often do you mastubate?
6. have you been raped?
7. Have you been a victim for incest?

Do you also have to ansver to questions like that if you want a sexchange?

Yeah pretty much common questions. The sad thing is that it's a mixture of malice and just pure curiosity, but what you have to understand, even if it's not meant for malice you never ever have to answer any of those questions since that's private information. Hell, I don't know a GG that wouldn't deck someone for at least half of those questions. Just remember to be firm and honest as to whether you are going to answer the questions. That really throws off the malicious ones off guard.

Kia,

Some of those questions seem out of line.  Others seem to ask for things to help the doctors decide if your wish to change is truly from being a transsexual or if it's some other reason.  I do not believe these questions are being asked out of pure malice or even simple curiosity.  The doctors have decided they need to know these things to proceed making their decision about your desired changes.

The thing is, if you don't answer the questions, they may very well refuse to help you.  If there is somewhere else you can go to begin transition, maybe a private therapist, perhaps that would be a better choice.  But if this is your only option, you may have to answer the questions even if they make you feel uncomfortable.

My therapist asked me some very deep and personal questions before he diagnosed me as a transsexual.  I answered truthfully and as completely as I could because that was the only way I could be sure he had the information he needed to make this important decision, even though some of them I would never answer to anyone else.  I know these answers would never be repeated to anyone so that made me feel a little better too.

Therapy has been uncomfortable for me many times, but I got through so far and I'm on my way to transition, so it worked for me.

It's pretty obvious that some so-called therapists need to be educated regarding the differences between sex and gender.  Shame on them! >:(  I'm sorry you have to go through this BS, kia.

Those questions are way out of line IMO.  I have never heard of a gender therapist asking anything even close to those questions.  None of them have anything whatsoever to do with gender issues.

Hi Everyone

I did answer questions like this when I was receiving counseling from the Veterans Healthcare system, by a MSN Counselor; I was even initially diagnosed as a ->-bleeped-<-... ROTFL, but when I was referred outside by the VA to appropriate gender educated counselors; this type of questions was never broached.

I am wondering if are friend her is dealing with a tiered system that for diagnoses and proper treatment has to ask the individual these type of questions. Because it just might be that the person is in fact simply homosexual or a cross dresser who needs different counseling than a person with gender issues.

Maybe the original poster should share a bit more of how the Danish healthcare system intakes and than refers a person for treatment....

Well it was not me who got asked the questions,
but another transseksuel, but when i start going to the Danish Sexologic Clinic,
then im sure ill get asked the same questions.

The problem with the danish system is,
that the clinic is for people with sexual problems,
and for people who commit sexual crimes.

Kia, make sure you continue to  insist that you are there for treatment for a gender, not sexual, problem and are not a criminal.  I don't think it's a good idea to question too much of their method since they may use your questions as an excuse not to treat you but you should tell them in no uncertain terms when the questions make you feel uncomfortable.

I believe this was the case in the US at one time, at Johns Hopkins, that people with gender problems were mixed in with people who had sexual problems or committed sexual crimes.  It's not really a good mix and maybe you can voice that concern to your therapist when you go there.

Hi

if your view on the system is correct, I aggree with the others on the board, your not there for sexual deviancy issue but gender issues. As I said even in the American model....lol and which one are we really talking about, there are several.... There has to be an intake procedure, just because the intake procedure asks to you unrelated questions, you are aware they can't read your mind and correcting ones gender with surgery is certainly a think twice cut once procedure....
I don't see a big problem, unless you go to them and they say you have sexual issue and not gender...eh!, but until than just be true to yourself and work within the system the best you can.... Don't make a problem out of somthing that likely is not a problem.

Personally I do not know, but I do know that I would not react too favorably to these.

Not at all.  >:(

You've got to be 'putting me on' with these.

Relevance   ???

But seriously(?), I believe that I can offer several more queries of equal validity:

--Have you ever seen a grown man naked?

--Have you ever been in a Turkish prison?

--Do you like movies about gladiators?
