I would love to know where all my FTM friends are these days. I use to know many back in the 90's and early 2000's.. Is there a site where they go but isn't a dating site but open to all people. It seems here we have so many who are jst starting or so young its hard to relate in some ways. I had a few guyz who i use to meet as i traveled the USA in a RV back then but i lost contact to so many. I also had one who lived with me in N. Calif and who went to a college in radford Va. Oh well thanks

I hear you man .... I feel like an old guy here ... I am 40.  I am lucky that I have meet a few older guys in my local support group -- but we don't go to group much anymore -- too much drama from the young folks

Dunno of any, but if you know their names there's always Google and Facebook.

If someone finds such a place please let me know.  I have nothing against young people, I just am in a different place in my life with different priorities.

I totally agree ... I have no problems with young people .... but I am in a different place in my life too.   I don't have to worry about housing - getting a job - graduating etc ...

I have been married for 12 years ... been at my job for a long time ... and have grown kids.  Most of the time their concerns and experience mirror my kids not my experience

We seem to have the opposite case in the MTF forum -- is there a site for younger MTFs?  :)

Another older guy here too - getting AARP ads in the mail (like, mail made out of paper!), and my T-day is late in the last millennium. So doubly ancient! I think there are not a lot of spaces for longterm transitioned guys ("transitioned" including social transitioning, and not solely medical), and also not a lot of spaces for older guys starting their transitions. For me, I'm not out on sites like facebook, even though it's a way to keep up with the guys who were my "littermates" or who I knew from the very early AOL lists or the Gazebo.

One thing I have started to do over the last 4-5 years, is to make an annual "date" with some other guys whom I've known a long time. We meet at a conference (the Philadelphia Trans Health conference, which is free to attend), and share rooms, and eat really cheap - except whoever has the best-paying job that year buys drinks one night out at a restaurant. These are guys I'm growing old with, who I might not speak to for months or even a few years, but when we get together, it's just...comfortable.

I guess I picked a good night to check out this site!

"Plugged in"??  you call that 'off grid'?  ;)   Try this here tin ear trumpet!

The Gazebo screen name isn't familiar, sorry to say. (I tend to not connect up different usernames across sites, so pardon me not returning the gesture.) I was always on a verrrry slow dialup. I made as many of the ftm chat nights as possible, though, and met some guys who are still in my extended circle.

To return to the main thread, though. I cannot yet add links (I am but an egg), but on fetlife dot com, search for a group called Mature FTM Gay Men. It's open to more people than the name would suggest, but male identified and attracted to masculinity seem to be the core components. Fetlife is a free site, with some added functionality (video access) if you want to pay. Lots of trans groups, and more of anything else than you've probably ever heard about.

Kreuzfidel

Even though I'm female-attracted, I'll check it out.  I've been on Fetlife for a while, but found most of the trans groups to be either gay or fetish.

I inquired about this ages ago, but obviously it's not going to happen.

Hmm, maybe one of you older lads (I don't think I count yet lol) could put a post in the suggestions box, and link back to this thread so people can show their 'great idea hands'

The best part about being old for sure would be a walking cane, when I get one I'm going to shake it at the sky and curse the world! And young people, mostly young people :p
