peky

I lurked foryears, and waited until things were calmer at Susan's, which happened a few months ago when a group of people left. So, I started to post, but no matter who careful I phrase my posts, I ended up offending somebody.

I do not come here to offend anybody, but to seek information and found support. I think that some people are either oversensitive or immature or both.

Haha yeah you're right I probably should have worded that a little better, it kinda gets me mad though to see all this senseless arguing over silly things when we should be helping each other.

I know alot of women, i'm around women 24/7 where I work and they don't act like that when they argue with each other lol. Just saying people on here need to take other people's advice with a grain of salt and not so worked up. I'm not trying to "provoke" anyone so please stop trying to turn it into that.  ::)

Jen are we looking at the same forum? It's more like "except my opinion or else!!" *beats chest* far from catty....

You're not doing a good job of this at all. Maybe quit whilst you're ahead hun.

This ^  I cannot agree with this enough.  Before I post anything I review what I say and make terms more "open-ended".  Even then there is always someone who takes offense..

For example:

Random person #1: "In my opinion I feel that blue is a great color for a wedding because to me it represents a calmness and since the wedding is not far from the beach I feel that blue would be a great color to represent the waters."

Random person #2 "Your opinion is wrong.  So what if the wedding is taking place next to the beach?  Blue is a bad color because the words "bad" and "blue" starts with the same letter.  You need to go with the traditional white because it's traditional and I think white is the best color to go with.  You are WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG!  Stop being so selfish.  There is more to the world than just you. *goes off into a tangent about the color blue*

Obviously I've never ran into that exact convo but that's the feeling that I get from some topics in every forum.

Just ignore it. You're feeding the fire by posting stuff like this.

Also, girls argue and fight like morons too... it's not a guy thing. Who woulda thunk it!

It's accept, not except. I don't get that at all though. I just see women debating. Sometimes people do make personal insults but I wouldn't call them men because of it. Saying you "get a male vibe" is hardly "playing nice".

I'd just advise folks to be aware of this:

Quote from: Site terms of service10. Bashing or flaming of any individuals or groups is not acceptable behavior on this web site and will not be tolerated in the slightest for any reason.  This includes but is not limited to:
•Advocating the separation or exclusion of one or more group from under the Transgender umbrella term
•Suggesting or claiming that one segment or sub-segment of our community is more legitimate, deserving, or more real than any others

That some people aren't as thick-skinned as others, and may have confidence/self-esteem issues which lead to them being more sensitive than they might otherwise be isn't something which should be mocked, in my opinion. People come here for support, and this is often the first place they come to before saying even a word to anyone else, when everything is new and terrifying. Throwing words around like 'oversensitive' and 'immature' isn't helpful. Maybe more helpful is to try and understand why people are the way they are. No one knows what goes on in people's everyday lives which lead them to feel the way they feel, and their state of mind when they come here. I'm not sure it's something which should be made light of.
Natura nihil frustra facit.

Above all... remember: you are beautiful, you are valuable, and you have a shining spark of magnificence within you. Don't let anyone take that from you. Embrace who you are. <3
