So I've done some looking around but most of what I've found is outdated and very unhelpful for FtMs or only for MtFs. If anyone has any links or personal advice for developing a lower voice and is willing to share with me, that would be great! And yes, I know that the T hormone will help some, but I want to do as much as I can now and actually feel like I can make a possible vocal response in public instead of my usual mute responses or not even venturing out at all.
Thanks again, Jay
Being me is the way it should be.
God made me this way so get used to it XD

I think you mean male hormones, but for me, they just didn't help some - they helped a whole hell of a lot.
My voice didn't pass much at all before, at least to most people, but of course I didn't see a voice therapist on anything.
I've noticed a lot of guys asking about this recently and I will reiterate what I said to them to you - the only thing that can help you right now is developing a strong male intonation. This may require voice therapy. I also assume a couple of people will end up recommending "boom your voice" to you.

Really? That's comforting to know and thanks for the advice!

I have a clip of my voice on the "you look badass, dude" thread if you want to hear what I sound like now.

I don't have a lot voice clips pre-HRT, except for me singing, but if I knew where one of me talking was, I would more than happily share it with you if you wanted comparison.

Sure that would be great! I really struggle speaking to people because of the way my voice sounds and it would probably be very comforting to here the before and during.

Okay.
I'll look for something later tonight and probably link you the before in a private message.
I'm not really comfortable sharing it publicly, but not like that matters much to you.

I asked the same question pre-T (you might look up the old thread; it would be from 2008) and didn't get much of a response. From Lou Sullivan's book (now sadly out of date), I knew of a series of cassettes that he recommended--The Sound of Your Voice, by Carol Fleming. It's all over Bookfinder.com, but I don't know anyone who has used it.

There are a few other threads with advice--hunt them up and see what you think. But that kind of training is nothing compared to the changes most guys get on T. Even a nice male tenor is an improvement over a typical female voice.

It looks like you're planning on T...how soon?
