Does anyone know how to hide hips? Baggy clothes don't help much. Is there a way to make them smaller somehow? (I already know to loose weight, but the problem I don't know how to solve is the bone.)

The only solution I've been able to come up with so far is to build up your shoulders, chest, and back.  It makes your hips appear smaller by having a larger upper body.

Some full length binders pull them in a bit.
Oh I'm a lucky man to count on both hands the ones I love

for myself I build up the upper body and try to lose fat around my hips,
this is what I can do for the shape,

on the shape fact I cant do anything about clothings is the second key.

I tend to wear a belt alittle tight to make it look smaller, but it might not nessesarry be a good idea its just me^^
something important about your shape is to wear the right pants who will hide it.
like pants with straight legs, who have the same size and dosent get smaller in the end.
like this:

and not like this:
http://www.stylebop.com/grafic/product2/137/900/137603.jpg <--- I know those pants are extremly ugly but its just an exemple.

also I found it to make a diffence how high or low you wear your pants. I think its good to wear them high on the hips but not at your waist or above.
if you have a mirrow you could check whats would be the best? this is just what I personally feel.

I'm a pear shape so my hips and butt are a nightmare. When I bind my chest it makes my bottom half look horrendously obvious.

I wear some of those tummy holding in pants gok wan is a huge fan of and they help considerably  :P I wear them in the smallest size I can stand to get as much hip/butt reduction as possible.

I love skinny jeans but they make the problem even worse, so I tend to stick to straight leg jeans. I try to wear them under my hips to give the illusion of straight up and down with a t-shirt and open shirt over the top, the way the shirt hangs covers the muffin top area.

I also second the part about trying your best to build up your upper body while losing fat from the lower half. I weight train 3xweek and jog 4miles a day in a desperate attempt to get rid of as much hippage as I can :P

Guys, Im just curious about one thing

Is the problem you guys have with your hips more because of their bone structure, or because of the fatty tissue? I guess it is a bit of both, but which feels worse?

In my case it's fat. Apparently I have a "male shaped pelvis" according to my midwife :P somewhere under all the blubber...

I can't wait to get some testosterone in me so all these hours I spend training actually DO something. My body seems very comfortable with it's hip fat. I'm losing inches like crazy all over my body (legs and waist especially) but barely any around the hips and it's driving me insaaaane.

Personally, I don't mind the fatty tissue because I could always lose weight. But even if I did lose weight, my bones stick out in a very obvious hip shape.
Thanks for the advice everyone!
I keep trying to find wide leg pants (I like baggy pants), but they don't seem to be in style and I can't find them anywhere.

My hips are probably the most feminie part of me (>.<) but I wear athletic sliding pants (for like baseball) without the pads and it helps squish the flesh into a more masculine bottom looking shape....however you need to make sure you can still walk in them and that you don't cut off circulation, because that would be bad. Anyways, it helps a little bit and when combined with baggy pants, I think it makes a noticable difference and so does my girlfriend.

If anything, go to an athletic clothing store and just try some on and see if you can get a tight one that helps but doesn't hinder your own abilities to function and see if you think/feel like it makes a difference. Because if it makes you feel better about your hips, by all means, do it!

for me the bonestructure is the worst..

I do have alittle fat even though im pretty skinny, but I can always train it away, no matter how hard I train I cant get away with my bone struckture and cause of that I will always be slighty wide no matter what I do.

I have a short torso, so what I do is wear longer shirts that basically cover the wide part of my hips. But if you have more proportionate body this might not work haha.

My hips are a combination fat/bone structure; I'm not overweight so I'm not really sure what I can do to get rid of the fat there other than wait for t to do something. From what I've seen that could take a good 5 years...

I've always had trouble getting mens trousers/jeans, even pre HRT - my butt always stuck out because of my spinal curvature *lol*  My waist-hip ratio was a bit whacky for a male as well which didn't help things either.

I found that when it came to buying jeans they'd either fit well in the seat and I'd have a large amount of material to cinch at the waist, or vice versa - which is probably similar to what a lot of you guys are dealing with.  (Ironically, women's jeans have generally always fit me better - I got away with boot-cut ones, even though I didn't have much in the way of hips pre HRT).

What I did was buy jeans that fit around the hips/seat comfortably, cinch at the waist a bit, and then wear a t-shirt that was baggy/long enough to drape over my buttocks (generally half way).  For you guys though, you'll still probably need to lose some weight and wait for some fat redistribution, and then also bulk up the upper body - if there's sufficient upper body bulk, then the loose fitting top will drape over the small waist and hide it.  A bit of work involved and it's a sloppy sort of look.

I think if I found a way to lose weight, my hips would be just fine. I have an identical twin who's as skinny as a rail and she ain't got no ass at all.

Bone structure here is the primary offender though fatty tissue plays a big part.  Exercising doesn't help.  The more I exercise, the bigger my a** gets.  I'm not kidding on that.  I went up to an 18 because of my butt when I started to exercise.

Anyway, when I'm trying to minimize my hips to give me a more androgynous appearance, I wear a pair of loose guy pants and have them sit below the hip bones that stick out and then I wear a belt that's loose, but not too loose.  My shirt is a little longer to cover up any muffin top that might be happening and then I'll wear a long-sleeved shirt over that (a button up one with the sleeves rolled up).  This makes it so I can bind and my hips won't look huge.

For some reason, most guy pants just make my hips more obvious. I still haven't found wide leg pants.

While you can't change your bone structure what you can do is visual distractions. People have already mentioned the exercise thing (concentrate on upper body)

For clothing, darker colors are more slimming. Do not tuck shirts in. Leaving them untucked can often provide camouflage. So can accessories like belts or having stuff in your pockets like wallet or mobile phone.

If you're not very tall, wearing baggy, bulky clothes is not the best bet, even for cover-up purposes. It has a tendency to make you just look fat and stubby.

And I can't personally vouch for it since I've never tried it but I think Under Armour makes a compacting/slimming short that you might be able to wear under clothes. I think that depends on your style...I have a pair of gothic bondage pants that are wide leg and baggy and they work fairly well at hiding my hideous extra flab.

But I think Underworks or LesLoveBoat needs to come out with a pair of binding briefs or something.

Working out your upper body definitely makes a huge difference.  I was also pretty surprised by how much of a difference T made.  I'm still a bit insecure about it, but it's definitely a lot better than before.  I also noticed something recently about binders.  Right now I'm using one of the LesLoveBoat ones, and it's not as tight as my Underworks tritop.  Doesn't get quite as flat, but good enough as long as I don't wear super tight shirts.  The other day I tried on my Underworks binder again, and noticed that my hips looked MUCH bigger with that one on.  I've always worn the tritop with the double front full length one because of that issue.  So trying a non-Underworks binder, or wearing the full length one can also be a big help.  The height at which you wear your pants is also a big factor.  Not too low, not too high, there's this point somewhere in between that I've found makes my hips much harder to notice.

Thanks for the replied everyone. I found them very helpful.
