I am kind of thinking of experimenting with this kind of thing. I have always had some dysphoria around my breasts, as was thinking of trying this.

OTOH, I hate bras. I hate sports bras (perhaps a bit more as they tend to be more pinchy). So anyone ever try some other things. One thing I do is just do the loose t-shirt (large or extra on a 5 foot one person, appropriate weight person). Or perhaps if the weather works for this t-shirt and polar fleece.

Now we are heading into summer and no P. fleece. I read that someone used Under Armour heat wear.

In my mind I don't necessarily want to completely flatten but could be much noticeable. Between a B-C cup btw.

Before HRT, I was around the same size as you and Under Armour heat wear was not enough to keep me comfortably bound.
Now, I can get away with it. but my chest has also deflated significantly from binding and HRT.
What I'm trying to say is that I'm not sure this will work for you, but you could give it a shot.
Under Armour can be just as expensive as a full functional binder, so just keep that in mind.

As it turns out, you were quite correct. I went over to Sport's authority which has these shirts. I tried men's and women's models. In all cases, the shirts actually made me look more busty. I don't know if this would be the case for smaller chested folks. So it might be an option. I got a couple of what are essentially undershirts, Champion not UA. As that is sometimes what I do, and the price was right. Still might look at a binder, not sure where to go on this as I want something like a binder-lite. :-)

I think the binders on lesloveboat details on how flat the binder is supposed to get you. You might want to look there.

I'm personally looking into a binder because I'm a DD (and the measurement is something like a 38) and nothing else cuts it for me.  I've heard the UA thing and I'm glad it works for some.  I used to do sports-bras to bind (horrible things, lol).

Anyway,  loose shirts seem to be the best bet, at least for me.  And they're comfortable.

I have a couple velcro binders from the lesloveboat place. What I like about the velcro is you don't have to have it super tight. My fav one is the mesh back one because while you still have the front to contend with, the mesh back is a lot cooler in warm temps.

I ended up ordering from them. The first one didn't fit, however, I think it would be very comfortable if it did fit. Just reordered with advise from someone who has dealt with them.

I own an underworks binder and it work fantastically. I can't wear it at work though as my job can be quite labor intensive, so I use crop tops, they don't completely flatten but they do push them down and still provide support
