hi justin is not such a happy guy at the moment since my sister just outed me to my mum, i had planed on telling my parents in a few days time but she just couldn't keep her mouth shut. my mum says she will accept me if i was gay or wanted to wear mens clothing for the reast of my life but she is against hormones and destroying my body (her words)
so yeah not depressed but still not that happy

I know how you're feeling man. My mother said the same thing when I came out to her. Although I was a bit relieved that she didn't spazz, I still wasn't happy or satisfied simply because transitioning to me meant all of those things that would "destroy my body." And her disapproval of that was just an awful feeling. Honestly though, she'll come around eventually. It took my mom a while, but she's all on board now.

Also thought I should add that last month I brought up her feelings when I first came out to her. Her response was "I just wanted to make sure you were sure." I was just --->  -__________-

I had the opposite problem I hadn't told my sister yet cause she lives in a different state and my mom told her a few days ago and now she said she needs to talk to me cause she thinks its a bad idea. Good luck. Its always hard when people hear from others before your ready to tell them yet.

i was lucky that 10 mins after i was outed my lesbian aunt called and now she knows, she said that she will help me talk to my parents. especially my dad

Thats awesome the only person in my family i had told was my mom so when she told my sister it caused some chaos glad everything worked out for you though

Some of the people who thought I was going to "wreck [my] body" came around when they saw how happy it made me to do so.

That's great about your aunt. Your mom may yet come around. By outing you, your sister created a VERY unfortunate suddenness and resulting shock. I believe she wasn't ready for this. I imagine she had already come to accept that you were gay, so that was not a shock, but the transgender thing, that was a shock. I think parents who immediately accept this are in the minority.

I can definitely relate. I hope that all works well for you. My mother was completely against EVERYTHING (in high school she even picked out my clothes to make sure I didn't look boyish- this was before I figured out I was trans*)

Sadly, we no longer talk and I am on my own. But I'd like to say that most of the time parents would rather see you happy and be uncomfortable themselves than you be extremely unhappy just for them.

You just gotta remember that you have to do what makes you happy before you can worry about making others happy.
