Why does my 'profile' pic keep showing it rotated?

Sorry to bother everyone - but, what am I doing wrong?  I have tried rotating my pic (in the gallery first), and then re-uploading it, but it doesn't seem to 'update' my pic.  I feel that I am doing something really stupid here, so please be gentle with me!  Thanks!  JinJan.

I think, and I'm not very computer literate, is that you need to rotate in your own home picture software, save and then save it here. We have no picture manipulation software on site. So you have to do it off site. Hope that makes some sort of sense.

The avatar is fine, if JinJan lives on the Equator.  ;)

There is a reason we  branded JamieD, I think she should be wearing a collar as well. And a bell.

When it comes to computer graphics, I am an idiot.
I call one of the kids for direction.

So the answer dear JinJan is we don't know.  But I think it is off site.

might be a bug/feature in the software you're using to rotate it where it's setting a flag that says "rotate 90 degrees left" (say) and it shows it that way but doesn't actually modify the image.

 ;) CTRL+ALT+Left Cursor should fix it  :P

(But as mentioned, its a problem with the picture itself - just flipping it in the viewer won't change the original file, you have to rotate it, then save the new file and upload the new, 'correct' image)

Thanks, much, all!  I do know that it is something to do with my software (or me!).  Actually, this is the first time that I am using my 'tablet' for anything pic related.  When I rotated the pic, I 'saw it' correctly, so I thought I was then good, to upload it - but I didn't save it.  So, I will go back and try again!  Thanks bunches, all!  And JamieD, you could be right about the Equator - I feel pretty 'lopsided', sometimes, lol!  JinJan.

Devlyn - lol - thanks!  But, I don't want everyone straining their necks, so I will try again!

Thank you, so much, Susan!  I was still trying to figure out if my tab software, was causing it.  Now that I 'see' my pic, I am going to have to post a better one!    :o  JinJan.

How'd you do that?!?

She has secret rotational powers. Don't try this at home.  :)
