I am seriously thinking about getting this swimsuit

http://www.lesloveboat.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=93&products_id=266

and this binder

http://www.lesloveboat.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=77_73&products_id=188

However I am unsure about the sizing?  The models they use seem much smaller than I am.  So I'm not sure about ordering size small like I do at Underworks.

I think I'm about a 34B or C bra right now.  The size small is listed as (71 ~ 83) .  According to the chart on the site bra size 34 is 75 cm and cup C is 15 cm.  Above it says to add the two measurements together which would give me 90 cm.  Which translate into size M.

Now my question is to those who I have purchased from them, were you happy with the sizing?  Did you order a different size then normal and did it turn out alright for you?  For the swimwear, what do they mean by trunk size?

Funny you should ask, I posted this a bit ago. Might be worth a read:

Nice swim suit. (Though I have no idea, perhaps they are thinking of waist/hips?)

I think they use prepubescent boy models. That said the sizing is like that too. I ordered a medium binder (Air Mesh velcro one). It is very nice and appears that it would be comfortable if it fit. While it will go around me it is very tight and obviously does NOT fit me in the shoulders. I am maybe a tad bigger than you (36 C). Perhaps I didn't figure this all correctly. Anyway I am donating this one and ordered a Large. Not sure if this helps any, and the sizing may be a bit different for the one you are ordering. But if you read reviews a lot of the reviews say the sizing runs small. They use several manufactorers and the sizing varies. BTW, I am 5'1" and weigh around 115. I only wear large anything to hide in. But obviously this is an exception.

You might like these reviews. She is not ftm but she does a good review:

Down in my part of the country, males and females alike wear wetsuits or "summer suits" in the ocean all the time

I've got two Loveboat binders waiting for me at the post office. Wanted to pick them up yesterday but apparently the post office part of the shop closed 30 min to an hour before I got there.. Now I have to wait 'till Tuesday, which means Thursday because I don't have time before that..

Anyway, I was rather unsure about the sizing myself. Especially because different binders have different sizing charts. So one of the binders is in S and the other M. I'll be happy to share, but you'll have to wait 'till thursday ;)

Will be interested in your reviews, Nathan. When my large comes, I'll be happy to do one.

I ordered a large velcro short binder and it was a tad too tight, one size up worked fine. A large surgical binder was actually too big. Next time I figure on ordering anything one size larger than the size it suggests, at least from the loveboat site.

Thanks for the links and information Aleon.  I think I'm going to order L as I have broad shoulders and see where that gets me?  I'm 5'10" and 160 lbs and some of that is muscle.

Let us know what you find out Nathan.  I'm thinking you are right, LordKat, and I should go with large.

I've been wondering the same thing because I am barely under the high end of an XL at Lesloveboat (38 DD, 5'10", ~200 lbs).  I've been terrified of ordering a binder from anywhere because a couple don't have my size listed on their sizing charts.  =/

I'm glad to see these links and I'll be checking them out. <3

Oh boy, you are way bigger, taller than I am. The only way that I have you "beat" is chesticle size. My shoulders are not broad. Anyway, hope this works for you. I was pretty well decided before I even ordered that I would donate if it didn't fit, so I will at least get to deduct this off my taxes. I understand that they are pretty nice to deal with (I have not) but it costs money to mail back.

Wet suits, imo, are pretty warm-- even the summer ones. I have used these in the ocean and they are wonderful, but don't think they'd work great in the pool. I have a "skin", but this is a pretty flimsy affair. One thing though, might be possible to take one and wear a binder underneath. They are nice as they protect against sunburn. I found something called a rash guard. Some are short sleeve and might work nicely with dive shorts or the rash shorts?? No experience with these but I like the skins. This is what they look like:

scroll down the page. BTW, I have no experience with this company, just using as an example.

I actually use a rashguard for swimming. They are used in multiple sports but I guess they're best known for surfers and mine is an MMA fighting brand. I can wear a binder (or sometimes a long and a short one because they're rather crappy at binding and not that tight) underneath and it'll just look like I have a very nice body.. ;)

I know I maybe shouldn't throw more options on the table, but I was just looking at the Loveboat price and I figured why not. ;) There's someone here in the Netherlands who makes binders/undies/swimsuits and such. The sizes will be more in the normal range and for an extra €12,50 (that about $15 I guess) she can make one to your specific size. You would have to take your own measurements though but still, might be worth getting in touch with her.

Do you have the link Nathan?

One thing about getting rash guard is that you can easily return it, as I think there would be such a thing at many dive stores and shops online and going to the store. I hate sending money somewhere else and waiting for shipping and THEN getting the wrong size.

Also found this link here: http://www.coolibar.com/
They are spf protected swim shirts and shorts.

Whoops, seems I copied the website link but didn't paste it. I'll look it up ;)

Thanks Nathan.

Ok, I got the Air Mesh velcro (short) binder in Large. Fits ok, with a little velcro to spare.
I'm 36 C. 5'1" 115 lbs. As you see *not* a large.

I'll make some photo comparison pictures later today or on Friday if I have the time. I have no clue about cup size so the only thing I can give is my chest circumference and the comparison.

If I remember correct I'm about 83 cm around the chest. (nipple area I suppose)

I got the Air M Velcro short binder in size S. Sizing chart states 71~83cm for size S. I pull the velcro all the way to the edge and I suppose I could pull it over if I would try. Comfort level so far (I've been wearing it for almost an hour), super comfortable when it's just on, get's a bit worse after a while but it's mostly below the chest area, maybe I should loosen it a bit..

Also got the Sports Pullover short binder in size M. Sizing chart stated that the S was good for up to 82. So I took the M (82~87). Extremely easy to get on, the fabric was too rough too pull it off over my head though so I had to take my pants off to pull it down.. :P
Binder seems a tad bit too big (what I was afraid for), but therefor extremely comfortable (haven't worn it for more than an hour yet). Rearranging your chest it difficult because the sides are low cut so that needed some fiddling. Will imagine it being way too tight though if I'd chosen the S..

I'd actually got XL if I were you. I bought L the last time thinking it would fit me and I can barely fasten it (I got the velcro one).

I could have gone with an XL, actually. I wore it today and found the velcro a bit annoying. I might add a little length of fabric or elastic. I'm not sending this one back.
I can't imagine what size you would need to be for this one to fit perfectly. Perhaps a teenager?

As far as I can tell, the sizing is for smaller framed Asian dudes.

I actually successfully added additional fabric and velcro to one of mine that just got to be too small (I was working out), so that is one way to salvage it.

So someone has done this. I am a lousy sewer, but I imagine I can do it. If I could only use duct tape.  :D

I think you're right on the sizing. I'm going to try the extra fabric. I can velcro it, if barely.
