If you refuse to accept it, then you won't, period. Trust me on that one because I'm speaking from experience. Not on the height front but on other things. On the height thing, I'm only 5'3" (and that's with shoes on ... more like 5'2" normally). It probably does contribute to the fact that a lot of people take me as female, but oh well. Luckily I don't have a major issue with it.
I think as someone else mentioned there's something more going on in your case than just wanting to be taller because that equates to more male in your mind (or that you feel you'll never get with someone cause no one likes short guys - which I'm sure you have to consciously realize is b.s.) You mentioned you were bullied for being small. Any kind of thing like that that happens early in life can set the stage for long term issues - ones that often get buried under superficial "fluff" that we create as excuses. Basically holding on to some of these notions about short guys IS that superficial fluff. If you get to the root of the problem and try to work on it from there, then maybe in time you can reverse that refusal of acceptance.
