Nicolas

Hello everyone!

I have jumped in and made a few posts but failed to properly introduce myself. My chosen name is Nicolas, or Nico, and I am a female-to-male guy. I came out as a lesbian years ago when I was 18 and slowly I began to grow more comfortable with myself. I come from a traditional Hispanic background and am the youngest of four - the three older siblings all being sisters. So suffice to say, growing up I was expected to be a proper 'lady'. However my masculinity has been a part of me ever since I could remember. I often joke with my sisters that they sucked all the estrogen out of our mother's womb by the time I came around.

Anyway, I finally accepted myself as being trans about five years ago. It wasn't until three years ago that I took the first step by contacting a therapist in order to begin transition. And fast forward three years and I am now beginning my transition. Yesterday I had my very first T injection and I couldn't be happier.

I look forward to meeting others and perhaps lucking out and making friendships along the way.
I choose to live by choice, not by chance. To make changes, not excuses. To be motivated, not manipulated. To be useful, not used. To excel, not to compete. I choose self-esteem, not self-pity. I choose to listen to my inner voice, not the random opinion.

I choose to be me, not who society wants.

Hi Nico, done deal, I'll be your friend! Take a look at the Rules and Terms Of Service in the Announcements section, it's light reading. See you around, hugs, Devlyn

Welcome Nico!  I love the nickname, a very dear friend of mine went by the name Nyko ... her full name was Shakeytha ... though, I can honestly say I think the only other nickname you could pull from that is Shakey and that's not very useful as a nickname ... anyway, I love Nico!

Welcome to the Freshman class at Susan's!  There were a bunch of us that introduced yesterday!

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone! I am just now catching up on the threads I have posted on after taking a very long weekend away and am absolutely thrilled with the many different people who have posted and the openness.

I can definitely see myself getting quite comfortable here.  ;)

Hi Nico,

A very warm Aussie welcome to Susan's family. I'm so thrilled you have made these very important decisions about yourself, and that you are very comfortable being Nico. That is just so very important for making a well balanced transition.  It's not going to be easy, but you've set yourself up for success.

I can still remember the feeling when I made my decision and the first time I went on to HRT. Special moments in the journey, with lots more to come.

Hope to hear more from you in the time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
