I need to find a gender therapist within a 50 mile radius of Dallas Texas, would be nice if they were also a Christian , but that does not have to be, simply the main thing is I can really trust them and get valid help from them and that they have a reputation of being very good and ethical and have some serious ways to help me that I cant get from anyone else.

Only one I know is Felicia Porter.  She has been doing this a loooong time - specializes in transgender therapy. ;)
Ill no longer be defined by my condition. From now on, I'm just, Kate.

I would strongly urge you to find a therapist that does not state their religion or at least states that it does not influence their practice.

You need an independent person that isn't tied to a particular church.

Having said that, my therapist is a Christian, but it does not influence her practice at all.  She has worked with Hindus, Buddhists, neopagans, and even atheists.  Any religious comments are more about how the divine is love and not specific verse quoting.  She has even wished me blessings near some of the Esbats.

However just across the hall from her (half a dozen people share an old house on a main street zoned for business) there is a therapist that outright states he is a Christian therapist, not just a therapist.  My therapist and a massage therapist upstairs almost were both quite upset when a gay couple came to him for marital counseling and he refused to help them and quoted verses until they left.  The massage therapist wanted to find the couple and left them know they could yank his license since he refused to provide help and didn't offer a pointer to someone that would (requirements of therapist license in TN), but calmed down enough later.
Blessed Be!

I'm starting therapy with Celia Lowry on the 16th, so I'll let you know how it goes.  She has a few other Transgender patients, one of her patients just finished transitioning last month!  I'm cautiously optimistic!  She did mention that some of the girls she's worked with have mentioned horrible experiences with other therapists in the area, so I urge you to be very careful!

I hope you've found a good therapist since your original post.  Feleshia Porter is pretty much the go-to person around here.  She's been really busy lately and might not get you in for a while, so many people like myself end up seeing her officemate Andrea, who is doing wonders for me in helping me figure myself out.  I was raised in a fundamentalist Christian home and the religious aspects are something I am working through as well.
