I hate shopping

Today, for the first time in years, I went shopping for clothes.  I've lost weight recently, and all my clothes are falling off of me.  Took along my sister.  One of the jeans I tried on was really tight in the crotch, and I tugged on it to show that i needed more room, had to be a bit baggy.  Her comment was something like: "What are you doing that for, you don't have a penis."

Oh geez, i didn't know that!

Then i called my mom and told her I got new clothes (new clothes are a BIG deal for me).  She asked what size.  I told her.  "MEN'S?!"  She blurted.  I told her that yeah, they were "Men's", that i liked the style and they fit me better.

I hate shopping, so frustrating.  I was standing in line for the women's fitting room.  Why are they separated?  Every room has a door.  The line was soooo long, i wish i could have gone into the men's one.  Thankfully, at another store I went to it was for everyone.

Anyone else dislike shopping?

Funny thing, I really hate shoppind in guy mode.  It's more like a hunt, run in and bag something and get out ASAP.  En femme, I find it to be a wonderful experience.  I look at everything, try on stuff just for fun, and just enjoy seeing all of the stuff for sale.  Just tonight I went shopping and came home feeling the glow of a wonderful evening.  A high point was seeing my reflection in the mirror and wondering for an instant who that woman was.  ;)

Lighten up and have fun with this!

Yeah..back before I passed as male I hated shopping in the men's department then going to the women's >.< changing room to try stuff on and having them tell me I had to use the other one..with my mom standing there blurting "its a girl". Man, its alot easier shopping as a man..when I'm alone of course. I don't feel like they're all staring at me in the men's dept..I belong now.

I love shopping, and can spend hours in stores, finding things that suit me.
Marcy though, hates shopping my style.  Her method is comando style.......plan your attack on your purchase geography, having all items on the hit list identified.  Crash the door, quickly do a quick recon, then grab up your captive garments and escort them quickly to the border patrol checkout clerks.

....hope you don't read this one, sweetheart...hehe...

Happy shopping, peeps, whatever your style is.

I love to go shopping with my wife for dresses, it just fustraits me that I cant try them on and find out what fits and what doesnt. I get so jellous that allt eh other girls can but im not allowed. But then I do have a male body. On the other hand I dont like shopping for male clothes, it just bores me to death. Ow that will do OK lets go.

But I am a real girl when it comes to long flowing gowns.  :-* ;D

Yeah. Shopping is a snore.

Since I'm always buying clothes from the men's department I'm always using the men's fitting room. Nobody has ever said boo to me about it, or even looked at me funny. This is not because I pass. Maybe it's just the shops I use. Really, I've never had anyone do more than raise a brow about my shopping for clothes in the men's department and using their dressing rooms. Except when I was being fitted for a suit -- "What is this for?" says the sales-girl, appearantly thinking I'm in a play or going to some drag party. "Formal occassions," I replied, "I am a cross-dresser." She was a little stunned. The seamstress who actually measured for the alterations seemed a little hostile. I was indifferent, it's good for them. Fup, by Jim Dodge: "We don't want anything unusual," says the movie-theatre manager to grandpa, in reference to the pet duck sitting on grandpa's head. "Well that just about narrows the s*** out of your life, doesn't it!" grandpa yells back. Being the duck in somebody's movie theatre is my little gift to them. I wish I still felt like giving it.

Your tale of woe concerning your mom and men's sizes reminds me of the recent slipper fiasco wherin my father decided to order me a custom-made pair of slippers from a maker local to him, and asked me what size I took. I told him, and warned him that I was talking about a men's size. This was all too complicated for my dad, so he had me email the slipper company with my size. This created terrible confusion, for although the slippers are all the same design and the women's ones look the same as the men's, the men's sizing chart bottoms out one size above mine. I tried to guess the equivalent women's size, and was of course wrong since I've not worn women's clothing for fourteen years. For some insane reason, the company was able to tell me that the women's size I gave was not equivalent to the men's size I gave, (Error! Error! Does not compute!) but were unable to extrapolate what that size ought to be. After all this exchange of weird information, they sent me a women's size, one number smaller than the men's size number I'd given them. I ended up smearing my feet with paint and stepping on peices of paper and sending those into the company with the returned slippers. The slippers they made from my footprints fit perfectly, and are actually so nice they're worth the hassle. I remain rather mazed that "men's size six and a half" coupled with "for my daughter," can create such a huge communication problem about such a simple thing.

I don't like shopping.

I used to love it. But living so far away from everything just makes it a super hassle to get out to the mall.  I don't purchase much in the way of clothing now anyway. I never have ocassion to wear it.

Men's clothing are sized so much better than women's clothing.  I tend to buy my pants as a 30 30 and as long as I know the style, I know they'll fit.  I don't know what I'd be sized in women's clothing though.  I think I'm about a 38-29-36 (i never measured with a cloth tape measure so I'm sure I'm a bit off.)  I'm thinking I'd be about an 8 in women's maybe..?  Anyway, back from my tangent, I still don't like shopping and I do not think it will change because I don't want to need to try them on first.

try on stuff just for fun

Oh lord, I just realized I did this for the first time last time I went shopping. Normally I write everything off that I don't have intent to purchase.

There was a $100 pair of jeans. No way in HELL I was going to buy it. "...but it looks nice, let's see if it fits!"

Yes I am the same most of the time, men's clothes are so boring! I rarelly find something I like. This might explain why I wear things until they nearly fall apart. It is a different story "en femme", I love shopping with my girl-friend, her daughters or my youngest daughter. We have great fun, they pick things for me or comment on what I pick.

i learned early in life that it was never a good idea to take any man shopping with me. if he insisted on going i always made sure that he had somewhere to sit and i brought along plenty of snacks.  the only man that i ever took shopping was my brother btw. ;)

I guess it all depends on what you want to shop for.  As for clothing, I don't like it.  If I need say a new pair of jeans, I head to the sale rack and find my size.  There we go, I have my jeans.  I will say there is this other store at the mall that doesn't sell many clothes, its more of a fantasy store.  I can spend a long time in there.  One side of the store has a bunch of skulls and dragons (very cool) and the other side has fairies and angels (also cool).  They have miniature Greek statues and Egyptian items and here's the best part...drum roll...swords.  It makes me feel like a kid in a candy store   ;D.

I guess it all depends upon what we like that makes us want to shop.

I love shopping... it's almost an obsession lol

but, seriously, when I wasn't full time and in total "guy mode" I hated it. I dunno if it was the underlying feeling of not wanting to be looked at as a guy or what, but I always loved to shop "en-femme"... heck I even window shop for stuff when I am online, which is like always... lol

Some of my best times going out with friends was just to go get a new outfit for this or that occasion... where we would go store to store, try stuff on, even if we already knew it was going to be the most unflattering, gaudy garment ever imagined (just for a laugh hahaha)... I always come home feeling a sense of renewal, even if all I ended up buying was some silly trinket or a new CD... Then again, I also like to walk around the mall in knee-length or higher skirts and see how many guys darn near break their necks watching me stroll by...lol
