How do I leave a membergroup? I now longer want to have "FTM transsexual" on my forum profile.
How do I get that little gender sign on my profile?

When you get to 15 posts you can add the gender marker in your profile.  You will also be able to mark the FTM Transsexual section to Ignore and you will no longer see anything in that section.

Good question, while I want access to the group, I do NOT want it showing with my avatar on my posts.

You can be in multiple groups.  You can only select 1 group for your profile.  That means if you are in both FTM transsexual and general, then if you pick general to show it will be friend/neighbor/family instead of FTM transsexual, but you will still have access to those groups.

Group membership is the LAST item in your profile edit.  Choose it and you can mark your primary group.  Set it to general members and you will not show your FTM membership.

Should be fixed now. Let us know if you can't see the FTM Just for us group.
