Elizabeth K

Hello - I am returning after a long absence - no real reason to have been gone so long, I guess, just that I got rather involved on other similar support sites, sorry.  This is a great place.  But reintroducing myself?  A lot has happened.

Elizabeth K is correct for my first name but not my last.  When I started I was still legally my old male name.  I changed that legally November of last year.  So Elizabeth Anne - and I use 'Lizzy' most of the time.

I lived in a small Louisiana town when I first started here.  I have moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, and the move is likely permanent - I LOVE living in New Orleans.  All my life I have lived within 5 miles of Interstate 10 - except 3 years in Dallas - so I am a Southern Girl, born in San Antonio, Texas way back when - but in Louisiana for 38 years.

I was married when I first joined, and my wife was grudgingly accepting back then.  When the HRT started its MAGIC, that support changed.  I have been separated, then divorced for several years.  Yes!  She cleaned me out, too!  grin

HRT?  I started December 10th, 2008.  YES - it works... yes, most definately

Full time?  I was full time for about 2 1/2 years, but only the last year and a quarter, full time everywhere.  I TRIED transitioning at work twice and got fired twice!  Transitioning at my age is tricky.  The last place I worked was for a project that was completed, so I retired afterward.

My age?  HEY watch it!  Seriously?  I just had my 65th birthday.  Yuppers - old gray mare!  But I have great health  and I needed to be healthy, why?

SRS in eleven DAYS!  That's why!

And there it is - about me!  Well almost everything.  My fiance?  She's a transwoman too and we are having our surgeries three days apart (she goes first).  And we both are trans-activists on a State of Louisiana level - and I am pretty well opinionated, but I do like to help people, so...

Hi y'all - Southern Lady here, N'awlins style.

Lizzy

Hi Lizzy, :icon_wave:

Welcome back to our little family. Over 7249 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

And be sure to recheck out these links ( MUST READS )

Congratulations on SRS.  I have hope now.  If you can go forward at 65, I can even at 58.

Welcome back, Lizzie. I was in San Antoni back in '71. I was hoping to get to New Orleans before Katrina hit. Still want come there. Best to you both on your transitions.

Well hello Lizzy.

An enormously big warm Aussie welcome back to Susan's family. Just soooooooooo excited for you. 11 days and counting. Good on you.

You are a giant among women. :icon_hug:

With your achievements both in the social realms and more importantly personal realms, I feel this forthcoming event of yours is going to launch you into outer space, with respects to achievements you never imagined or thought possible. You are just that type of person. And it couldn't happen to a nicer person.

My heart and thoughts will be with you throughout this phenomenon. Wishing you every success and expectation, and an abundance of both. Keep in touch and let us know how you are coping. I look forward to a minute by minute update  ;D ;D

Be safe, well and happy
Lotsa huggs
Catherine

A warm Aussie welcome back.
Best wishes for your SRS Lizzy, and to your fiancee' too.
Nothing wrong with being forthright, being from the South you will no doubt do it with Southern style. ;)

It's good to have you back sis.
I hope all goes well with your SRS.
Please keep us informed.
I don't know if you remember me but I am one of the older girls too.
Will be 62 later this year.
I'm in the middle of a divorce and plan to have SRS in another year.
So I am not far behind you.
Hugs,

Hi Lizzy,

I remember you from Laura's. :) I'm Kaitlyn88 on there, but it's been awhile since I posted. Congratulations on being able to get SRS! I'm still trying to save up the money.

What surgeon are you going to? After you get SRS and heal up I would love a review from you on my website, if you wanted.

Kate :)
