How's the present guy working out?

The question is: knowing what you know about Romney's and Mr. Obama stand on GBLT, which one would yo chose?

Less War, Better Economy, Better Polices, You know what? It's working out quite well.

Let see if any Republican or Conservative Administration can meet and equal Mr. Obama record on supporting and advancing the GBLT rights agenda.

Here is but a few examples:

NY judge: Anti-gay marriage law unconstitutional
A federal judge in Manhattan joined a growing chorus of judges across the country Wednesday by striking down a key component of a federal law denying benefits to partners in a gay marriage.

I am not a one-issue voter.

With that said, when 0bama had the opportunity to really do something, his first two years in office, he did nothing.

I don't like being taken for granted, and I don't like being the recipient of lip service.

We have a saying here in Louisiana on Voting Day - "You hold your nose, and you pull the lever."

All in all I like to switch EVERYONE out every four years.  But in this particular four years its been the Republicans pushing through everything they could and blocking EVERYTHING Obama tried to initiate.  So I call it a Republican 4 years.  I really think it's time to see what the Democrats can do, so I suggest we give them a try again.  The theory is Obama will then be unafraid and kick some butt.

Partisan politics is deadly to this nation.  The self proclaimed Christian Fundamentalist Right is 7%.  They are attempting to ram their agenda down the throat of the other 93% of us.  They have chosen the Republican Party as their vehicle, so therefore to oppose them we are required to oppose the Republican Party - a real shame.

Your perception does not match the facts.

From January 2009 to January 2001, the Democrats under Speaker Nancy Pelosi had complete control of the agenda in the House.  In the Senate, the Democrats under Majority Leader Harry Reid, had 60 votes and a filibuster-proof majority.  Even now, after the watershed election of 2010, the Republicans can only block the excesses of the 0bama agenda.

We had two years to see what they could do, and they did nothing.  The Senate has not even been able to pass a budget.  So they have does less than nothing  - they've gone backwards.

President Obama (Sorry, and no disrespect, That seems petulant and childish when you write it with a 0, It's almost offensive to me. I didn't care for Former President Bush's polices but I didn't call him some silly stupid name to try and make myself feel more justified). Has done plenty enough to justify his tenure, naturally I disagree with some things he has done and would like to have seen some others done.

But, Ultimately Presidents aren't angels or demons, which is why I was fine if MCCain won, while he was playing it too right-wing to appeal, his stances and such wouldn't have actually caused any harm had he won. And I think he would have been more "left" leaning like his more original stances were. It's ironic, he only got the chance to compete becasue he was the most middle leaning candidate in '08, but he didn't actually use that to any advantage. x3 Oh well.

As for Romney, I don't think will win, He smacks of non-exciting filler, The same kind of filler that Kerry was. But were he to win, I don't think he would bring doom. >_> It's not like anyone who isn't Republican will all suddenly be shipped off to death camps when a Republican wins. Nor will he do anything insane. Will Romney be friendly to trans issues? Meh, I doubt it, but he won't be aggressive against it. Most Presidents are pretty mediocre in the grand scale unless major things happen during their time.

That is a fundamental problem many have with the Democratic Party, they get pushed around by Republican Tactics without really trying to fight back (Really it's sad how easy it is for Republicans to stale anything they disagree with), You'd think I'd be calling Republicans bullies, but more like the Democratic Party as a whole lacks unity and spine to overcome that.

So, That theory could be turned around to say we will actually get a lame duck becasue odds are that Republicans will gain more control of House/Senate even if President Obama wins. =/ Politics is lame and really slow.

Grin - my perceptions are different.  I feel that the Republicans were essentially obstructionists the last four years.  And you did miss my point about partisan politics.  If we have a Republican President, then the DEMOCRATS will be the obstructionists.

Partisan Politics will eventually destroy this country.

Partisan politics have existed in the country since before the Revolution.

But we had 1-party government from 2009 to 2011. The Republicans had no power to obstruct anything.  Even now, in the Senate - which was designed to be a more "deliberative" body than the House (see the Federalist Papers) - the Democrats are in control.

That is what the democratic process is all about.

Not that I pretend to be a political expert, but I highly doubt that Romney is going to live up to his expectations.

I know for a fact the incumbent hasn't.

Technically that's your opinion. Which is a valid one, but others obviously won't share it. I expected President Obama to be decent and do some good things, but not nearly as much as some other pie in the sky democrats were heaping upon him. x3

Hi Folks,

A reminder to keep discussion on the original topic, which is regarding Gov Romney's Objections to writing 'transgender' in MA anti-bullying guide.

Yeah, what where his objections? I heard other republicans objections! They always boil to their morals! To them we will always be sickos and perverts. Yeah, I think if they had their way, we would be in some concentration camp, and legally prosecuted.
