So I am stealth and I want to put male on my FAFSA, but it checks to make sure I registered with the selective service act. Can I register with the selective service act as male? If I do so will I be fined or imprisoned? Will it show on my FAFSA that I registered?

i believe on you're FAFSA you have to put you're social down and it will probably red flag you if you tried to put male done on you're FAFSA and it could stop you from getting grants and stuff

I put everything as male and just registered with Selective Service and had no problems.

If you had ever registered with FAFSA as female, you will be flagged.  If school has you as a different gender, you will be flagged.  I had to send in a copy of my surgery paperwork for an exemption.  Luckily, the paper Selective Service returns does not say why you are exempt, just that you are.

Yes you can register, but might have to do it via male if your social security card still lists you as female. I recent wrote a guide for __to Male on the selective service which is at http://www.havenprogram.org/, under "___ to Male and the U.S. Selective Service". Please feel free to check it out. I put it together since they don't have the needed information on their website. Their official stuff is at https://www.sss.gov/QA.HTM#quest35 .

I changed my fafsa over with no problems after I registered. Just went in, updated the information and marked that I was registered with Selective Service. Good Luck!
