How many ways can you say bathroom or describe the Throne itself? I just gave us the first two. Hugs, Devlyn

Devlyn, you are absolutely incorrigible.  >:-)      :P

But seeings you asked, here's an Aussie twist

The bog
The loo
Thunder box
Dunny

For those of us that engage the etiquette side of life: That appropriate appliance.

Let us not rise above the level of this topic. It's too damn comfortable down here. I feel as though I'm among friends. I eagerly await a visitation from the GodMother herself. She should be down soon.

(I'd sign this if I could stop laughing)

pet's water dish

wc (water closet--supposedly an English thing?)

outhouse (hey, I'm from Idaho!  ;) )

...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

In reality I usually say I have to visit the necessary room but I have used several of the above mentioned terms and also a few others

Potty is a rather obvious one but I've also have sent various things (mostly hobo spiders) swimming in the wild rapids pool

Let's not forget the room for making a contribution to the cause

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

The Reading Room

Powder room

...other terms for the act? (Inspired by "donation to the cause" LOL)

--drop a deuce
--take a dump (which is kind of funny...one does not "take", one "leaves" something)
--"the squirts"

OMG did something die in there?!?

Why? Did you trip over something in the dark?

Can someone turn the light on down here, please. ............... What? ...... It's already on!

ODG. I think we have just slipped further into the cesspool of depravity. And we have Devlyn to thank for it.

"THANK YOU DEVLYN"  (with a slight echo)

In my cat-obsessed youth, I'd refer to it as the "catbox."

I know a few in Japanese, if that's alright.
トイレ, toire, from the English word "toilet"
お手洗い, otearai, literally hand washing
便所, benjo, literally, "convenient place"

The Catherine
(Cindy that is so rude >:-))

The bog

The long drop

(There was a toilet at Sheffield University that was the original in this old grand building, the new loo block was built on to it, it was probably heritage listed. It was a true throne. It was on its own plinth, the graffiti was awesome an funny, it was clean, it had carved arm rests. Still recall it after many years. )

I heard that the Japanese toilets are actually squat-n-crap facilities, not the "sit and get comfortable" Western type. It's like one is doing their "business" in a long shallow sink...

Do you know if that's true?
