As a sci fi fanatic I was wondering who else was a sci fi fan and what their favourite series was? Besides star trek being my favourite, I am also really into haven and warehouse 13 at the moment, as well as doctor who (old and new), stargate and stargate Atlantis

TV shows? Star Trek: TNG, Firefly, and the newer Battlestar Galactica here :)

I like the Star Trek TOS and TNG and the spinoffs, Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, the newer Battlestar Galactica better than the original, and Babylon 5.

The new Battlestar Galactica is one of my favorite shows of all-time. I will also second Ms. OBrien's suggestion of FireFly.

EDIT- Also, if you like old and cheesy, the show Lexx and the associated movies from which it is based are a fun watch as well.

Whenever I want to get someone to give sci-fi a shot, I always recommend the reimagined Battlestar Galactica. I also love Star Trek TNG, The X-Files, The Outer Limits, Firefly, the earlier episodes of The 4400, & Futurama (do cartoons count?)

But in general, I've always felt that sci-fi on TV always plays second fiddle to sci-fi on film.

Can I just second every single show everyone has said.

And apparently it's firefly's 10 year anniversary at comicon this year.

Firefly, Sanctuary, and I noticed someone else put Lost Girl, so I'm assuming that one counts too.
I have not yet seen Dr. Who, *gasp* but I plan to.

I like many that have been listed. I'm one of those people who gets mildly annoyed when people confuse fantasy with sci-fi so should we put those in another thread? Shows like Supernatural, True Blood, Game of Thrones, and Teen Wolf?

Omg, I LOVED that show. A giant insect spaceship that eats planets. It was, by far, the weirdest, most bizarre sci-fi series I've ever seen. But very, very good.

Actually, I still say "As you command, Stan" when people I know ask me to do stuff. ;D

Well, my two of my favourite shows just happen to be science fiction.

Fringe and Dollhouse.

I strongly recommend both of them. They are really good.

Fringe is a little chaotic because the story has gone all over the place. At first it was kinda like the X-Files where there were just random cases and they solved them. Then it went into a story arc with an alternate universe and stuff. But everything is still good.

Dollhouse is about people being programmed to be others for the (usually) rich. One of these learns how to fight it over time.
