You can load images at any time, but you only be able to modify your profile and add an avatar after you have 15 posts.

The thing is i tried it just now with img img/ function and it didn´t work... might there be a problem with the resolution?

You need a picture/photo hosting site, Photobucket is rather popular but there are several others online
