I posted this over in the intersex forum, but now I wonder that I should have posted here.
I don't know how old the video is but it was posted a few weeks ago. I think the interviewer is Sally Jesse Raphael who starts out kind of hostile. I think she turns around due to this person's sheer will and personality.

Yea it is old and that was her style to start off kinda hostile. To me it was more of a way to approach subject manner that most people wouldn't relate to so she would start off defensive like that then soften up.

In my opinion she was one of the better talk show hosts.

I figured as much since I thought she was not on the air anymore. I think it is a style thing to do that hard edge approach, but I was impressed that she changed her tone. I thought at several points she was just blown away. Perhaps it was an act. I was surprised I actually thought she did a good job. Toby is very impressive.

Thanks for posting this Jay Jay. The guest was really articulate and very well prepared. Shows the power of preparation.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Thanks for sharing this.  I didn't quite get if Toby knew that they were genderless because of physical characteristics or simply in the mind?  If it was due to some physical characteristics then it might have been easier for Toby to assert themselves.

No, I watched all 5 videos. Toby had no genitals, no secondary sex characteristics, and no hormones. It seemed that doctors (and perhaps family) were trying to get hir to pick a gender and live in that gender, that was the part that was in zir mind. In one of the later videos, ze refused to say what the chromosomes were. It was a very interesting exchange with Toby totally holding zir ground with lots of logic. Sally Jesse Raphael went over to zir side, saying isn't the chromosomes a bit irrelevant in this case.

I was really impressed with Toby who really stuck to hir guns and communicated very effectively.

I was mentioning this because maybe it was more easy for Toby to understand their neuter nature if they didn't have any genitalia.  Seeing something physically makes more sense than if it were only mentally.

I am not taking away anything from how Toby expressed themselves.  Toby is impressive and they really held their own in the discussion.

How ironic that doctors can be so careful about making sure somebody's really trans before recommending treatment (especially back then), and then refuse to believe somebody like Toby can be cis.
