In preparation for European City of Culture 2008 celebrations Liverpool based Spirit Level transgender group http://www.spirit-level.org.uk have arranged to participate in the 2007 Liverpool Lord Mayor's parade http://www.liverpool.gov.uk/Leisure_and_culture/Whats_on/event_details.asp?dms_id=127281 on Saturday 2nd June 2007.

This years parade is an opportunity to find out how many trans people would like to participate in Liverpool based public events. The Lord Mayor's parade is not a pride event, it is very public and we will be part of the http://www.homotopia.net entry in the parade and their theme is based on Oscar Wilde !!! So not for the closeted or faint hearted .....

We are printing tshirts with "Transgender" on them for everyone who lets us know in advance that they are coming along and would like to wear one on the parade. We also plan to have helium filled balloons with the international transgender symbol printed on them to hand out along the route.
