I just got a call from my GP's office saying they got a letter from the gender clinic that gives a recommendation of starting me on testosterone, so I have an appointment on Tuesday with the GP to get the ball rolling.

I can't believe it, it's actually happening, it's been such a long, hard struggle I always had thoughts in the back of my mind that it would never happen and I'd be stuck this way forever.

I am positively giddy with excitement. omgomgomgomg :o ;D :D

Ill no longer be defined by my condition. From now on, I'm just, Kate.

Thanks guys :D time is going so slowly

I'm trying not to get too excited for the appointment tomorrow as I doubt I'll actually get a shot there and then...my GP is helpful but has never done this before, so I would imagine this will a be a discussion of what to do next

Another one getting on the T track! It seems like the in thing going on lately :D You are one of the cool kids now.
But really you are on a good start and I hope it goes well for you, you'll be there soon enough.
I'm batman.

Just as I suspected he's more than happy to sort me out with the T but he has to speak to some colleagues and do some research first. He said he'll give me a call in about a week once he has it sorted out and I'll be getting my shots  :D *happy dance*

Now to wait...and try not to stare at the phone o_o

Arch

Okay, so hang in there a little longer...it's good that he's supporting you. Full speed ahead! (Well, soon...)

So I decided to ring the GP today to see if they'd gotten any further. The doctor I spoke to  is on holiday until next month...and he apparently hasn't passed on the information to my regular doctor either.

*sigh*

So much waiting around aaaaaarrrrggggghhhh  >:( do they not realise how fundamentally important this is to me

I really don't think they do.

My therapist gets it...but he works with a lot of trans people.

Another month at least, then?

hehe :D

Yeah apparently so Arch. I could scream. I'm not asking for much here. The amount of anguish and ridiculousness and money it's taken me to get this far is unbelievable, only for my GP's to put me at the bottom of the pile and not even bother informing me, it's infuriating.
