MissJessica

Hi everyone!

I am 30 years old and so after 22 years I have finally come to terms with who I am. I'm a male to female trans. I have my first appointment with a gender therapist this coming Tuesday (July 17). I really hope things go well and I can start HRT real soon.

Due to past financial reasons, I have been living my mom, stepdad, and uncle. They know about me and are supportive in my decision, which I am so thankful for. Now that I am secure in a good job, and since I plan on going through the process of becoming the real me eventually, I might just stay here in order to save money for my transition -- unless I can find a cool roommate, then I might consider moving out. I have told a couple friends about me. So far only one is supportive.

As well as other things, I live in southern California; have a lot of hobbies ranging from photography, games, mixing music, cars, and some sports. I do not know other transwomen, which brings me here. So I'm hoping to make some new friends!  :)

Hi Jessica, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 7529  strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

Thank you, Justin and Devlyn!

Yes Malachite, I find that I am very fortunate, thought it wasn't always like that. I first came out to my mom in high school. She had a really hard time. But it took some time and it wasn't until recently that she began to support whatever decisions I make.

Hi Jessica,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. I'm so proud of you for setting yourself up so well, both at home and in your journey. A good therapist that you can build trust with is absolutely priceless. It allows the real you to emerge and flourish.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendships waiting for you here, so don't be backward in coming forward. Look forward to hearing more about your successes in time to come, so in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Hello there, Miss Jessica.  I am also in southern California (Ventura County).  One of the other moderators, "Sarah Louise" lives in SoCal - out where they have coyotes!  "Arch" lives here too.

Thank you, Cindy James!

That's great that there are others near (or relatively so). I was trying to find a local support group, but the one I did find here in the IE seemed inactive; well, I at least I never got any email's back.
