After a successful meetup in Seattle, we are now planning one in Portland.  The planned date for this is someday in Late August and Early September on a weekend.  It's shaping up to be an overnight affair with plans to do an outdoor concert or movie screening or something like that.  There is also nightlife to scope out as well, along with other fun things.  For those that want in, just post in here and give your ideal date and thoughts about what to do.

A meet up sounds like a great time.  As for me, in August and September, I shall be at extern.  I think it might by in Vancouver, by I should find out in a week.

Depending on my schedule, I should be able to go on Sundays.

This sounds like fun! I have no idea where I'll be by late August but I'm living in Portland now and I'd be sure to make it to the GTG.

I haven't seen felix post lately, what did you all do to him on your last "get together," huh?  Or do we wait for the news story?

:police: >:-)

To Crazy Old Bat:  He hasn't posted lately because of the trip.  I'm certain he's home safe and sound.  I'll give him a call later on to see if he is.

To Tamaki:  Yay for living in Portland.  We'd love to have you over in Portland.  I know there are others who live in portland who wanted to come to Seattle, but couldn't because of distance, or other reasons.  I'm thinking about either a big meetup at some restaurant for dinner and like an outdoor concert or movie screening.  Miharu and her wife have plans for this meetup as well, so this should help out as well.

To Ms. O'Brien.  I'm thinking this lasting for a full weekend.  Maybe start on Saturday and come back on Monday.  Either way, it should be a great time.  If you have any ideas on what we all should do, let me know on here or through PM.

I'm in!

Weekends (Days = Sat/Sun/Mon) to choose from:

18/19/20 August

25/26/27 August

1/2/3 September

8/9/10 September

Any would be ok, but my choice would be 1/2/3 Sept., which may conflict with those with school-age kids.

...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

What she said!
For me, Sat Sept 1-Mon Sept 3 are ideal since I have a 3 day weekend from work. But some may have family commitments.
Sat Aug 25-Sun Aug 26 also good. :)

Wanted to mention for those of you in Portland area, I just posted an event to the calendar. On Monday August 13 Kate Bornstein is doing a free reading at Powell's City of Books. It will be filmed for her upcoming documentary 'Kate Bornstein Is a Queer and Pleasant Danger':

Hi Sigmafan,

I'm sorry that I missed your phone call last night.  Peaches and I were at the pool hall until late.... we had the stuffing beat out of us in a long drawn out match.  So it goes.

I will give you a call this evening so we can chit chat about this upcoming meet up.

See you soon!

It looks like we have a set date for the meetup in Portland.  The plan is to have it a full weekend starting on September 1st and ending on September the 3rd on Labor Day.

I am thinking about how should all of us start off the meetup?  I know that Miharu and her wife are willing to make dinner for night 1.  I'm thinking that if there is an outdoor concert or a movie, that would be a good place.  Also on day 2, a big trek to Voodoo Doughnuts to get some of their delicious doughnuts would be in order.  The rest of the time is still being discussed.  If you're interested, just respond to this post or message me privately.

I'm out. Sorry, but have some personal issues to take care of first.  :embarrassed:

Well, now I need to figure out a way to get to Portland to attend said meetup.  If anybody else who is coming from Seattle to Portland for the meetup and is willing to give me a ride, just let me know.
  •

Tamaki

I would give you a ride but you'd arrive a month early.  ;D  I'm heading up to gender odyssey in Seattle this weekend then back to Portland. It also gives me a chance to see my sister for the first time since I've transitioned. A full weekend is anticipated.

I would like to attend but not sure how I'd get there, plus I have a hidden agenda  :icon_suspicious:  I've been thinking about moving to either the Portland or Seattle area and so I'd be looking for a place to move to

LOL... Kinda hard to have a hidden agenda if you tell everyone what it is
