Well I'm 22 and in the navy, I'm 5ft 11 with a kind of athletic build, at least up top. My hair is very light everywhere on my body and everything, I'm working on slimming down a lot, so basically what I'm trying to say is that I want to start hrt and have wanted to for a while. I know the earlier the better the results. I guess I just need some opinions on what I should do in my situation and what all to expect. I've seen amazing before and after photos of people and I'm just concerned that me being in the military for two more years is a horrible idea or not or if I would be able to hide the changes, whatever they are for a while? What should I do?!

At this time, don't tell!  Being transgender will get you kicked out.  An honorable discharge will help you when you get out anyway.  I did my time in the Navy during 'Nam and waited two years afterward to try to transition.  You would have to wait on the HRT.  Taking HRT on the sly is the same as a drug conviction in the military.  Don't do anything to clue anyone on being transgender nor act too macho.  If it does get worse, you'll will have to see the shrink.  The shrink may give you options after he has analyzed you.  Be patient.

When you get out, if you have access to the VA medical system, you will be able to get hormones and blood work done by them as part of your medical care.

I would advise against trying to start HRT while in the Navy. That can get you into alot more trouble than being trans. Discharge for transexualism is administrative, and not medical and is outlined in the Standards of Medical fitness. If you only have two years left just keep going. It may sound like a long time  but you'll be OK. I know, because I've been there...recently.
If you feel like people know and may be outted it's important to contact Service Members Legal Defense Network (SLDN), they are great folks, and it does not cost anything.
As for the VA, they cover therapy, HRT, bloodwork. Some even have TG support groups.

I have to.agree with everyone. Het is a bad idea while in because they can get you for that. What. I have seen is people taking testosterone blockers until they are officially out to buy time sort of.speek. just get out as sion as you can. That's the two things I always have others to do when they contact me on.this issue. Spiro helps regulate the blood pressure and that's the excuse I have people in use. The high stress is driving up their BP and they knew this was a way to.keep it down without seeing a shrink for anxiety meds. That's a good full proof plan for if they ask any questions that always works. How much longer do you have sister?

Maybe you can get spiranolactone which will stop T from further masculinizing you. Its basically a blood pressure medicine. Tell them you heard it helps to stop losing your head hair which makes you self conscience..

I feel your pain.  I was 26 and in the navy (in Australia) when I started to seek help for my GID.  I still had over a year to go until I could get out though.  Didn't let anyone in the navy know my situation, but got through it without too many dramas.  I started to see specialists while still in though, so was able to hit the ground running when I got out  :D
