Are you MTF? If so... estrogen will soften your skin and redistribute the fat in your face to give it a rounder, more feminine appearance. However, hormones cannot alter the bone structure so if you have a very masculine bone structure then some of your facial features will not be "feminized" without surgery.

yes i am a m2f tg, at least in the future i will be. im just concerned basically because of my face. i dont think that im to masculine looking to where i cant be changed, ill have pictures up hopefully soon after i keep chatting on here for a bit so i can get a more thorough opinion lol. ive seen many cases where an amazing difference is apparent i just hope(like we all do )that its a good one :) thanks!

From what I've read, seen and experienced on my own body there will definitely be changes but the magnitute can vary a lot. Important aspects are age, one's individual starting point, ethnicity, body frame, etc.

I am half Asian but I also inherited the huge nose of my German father. :D People who I haven't met for a long time say my face looks much less angular than before. Overall, skin will become more dry and smooth. Growth speed of abdominal body hair will decrease in the long run as well. There's more but I think some of the other guys and gals in this forum can add some of the aspects I did not mention. Contrary to popular sense I also experienced a slight change of my voice (but I cannot tell whether this is lead back to hormonal influence or an unwitting habituation of a new way of speaking).

In general, the younger you are the more dramatic would the changes be you can expect.

You're young. Just don't drink too much alcohol or gorge on the fries - bad food choices will make you age faster. ;)

I started taking hormones when I was 26. That was eight years ago. I didn't look very feminine before but not very masculine as well. Hormones definitely enhanced my passability but after so long, I still see a face of my past when I look in the mirror. I plan to undergo FFS next year. Maybe this could be an option for you as well if hormones only don't provide the expected results.

Just don't drink too much alcohol

too much is always bad, but bear in mind, alcohol raises levels of aromatase in the body, the enzyme that converts testosterone into estrogen.....and beer contains hops, which are extremely estrogenic......

  •

chris(kelsea)

so what your saying is having a nice class of red wine every day could only help ;) lol
  •

Oriah

precisely

except some red wines can also block aromatase, or prevent testosterone from being converted to estrogen.....far as I know it's the only alcoholic beverage that does that......all others should raise aromatase
  •

chris(kelsea)

so which wine would you prefer? or how can you tell which kind will block aromatase?

White wines don't block aromatase......most if not all red wines do.

beer though, is by far the most feminizing alcoholic beverage.....

the girls in germany that used to pick the hops for brewing almost always grew breasts and menstruated two years or so before the other girls, and that's only from the transdermal (aka through the skin) application of the phytoestrogens in hops.  And that's on top of beer's ability like most alcohols to increase aromatase

chris(kelsea)

well thank you for all the advice, i think im going to stay away from beer though lol i dont like the taste and its empty calories. ill stick with my wine :)

well, if you are a reasonable drinker, it really shouldn't come into play that much anyway.....getting more estrogens in your diet would be much more beneficial to feminizing.

Cut your intake of red wine to 1/2 glass per day like me

You can expect softer skin, fat redistribution, and a possible change in hairline. You don't look too masculine in your photo, so you might have a pretty good transition. Plus, 24 is nothing. I know a firefighter who transitioned in her mid-30's, and she is gorgeous, despite her stressful job and age. Just so you know, she eats an all-natural diet. Trust me, it helps.

People here have covered most of everything I'd say.... big things for me were stopping in the tracks male hair loss (the full hormone regimen, not just e). It'll make you lose muscle, so jaws can slim down a fair bit, smooth skin, fat shifts..... best thing you can ever do for your facial feminization is to never leave the house without sunscreen!! A year of sunscreen did wonders for me...

for me, I noticed my cheek bones looked more raised, due to skin and fat redistribution, my actual cheeks have gotten softer, and if you already have done perm hair removal it makes seeing these changes alot easier, which is a major confidence/ moral boost if you ask me. But yeah like many said, take pics and compare regulary, using a mirror is not advised, you see yourself enough on a daily basis to make noticing changes hard
