Absolutely not

In my opinion that punishes people who cannot afford to or do not want to have SRS.   It also punishes those who may not be able to get SRS because of medical conditions.  Also on the FtM side there are a lot of guys who choose not to have SRS because of the current surgery available that may not be up to their standards.  They should not have to be punished either.

It should be enough to live as your desired sex with letters from a therapist without any medical altercations in order to get your birth certificate changed. 

I can agree with system which is here, you need SRS or castration (after one year of hrt), booth provided by "free public healthcare"
It is not perfect, but when anyone can change gender mark as want, there will be anarchy
So it is less bad possibility

If you require SRS, you basically are telling people who have health or religious reasons why they cannot take the surgery, "well the rest of us get to change our gender, but ha ha, you're stuck where you are."


Such a rule is inhumane, IMO.

Oh, the horror of not knowing what someone's gender is . We'd just have to treat each other as people then. That's an anarchy I could live with.

In the state where I was born, Victoria (Australia), it is sufficient for someone FtM to have a mastectomy, as the breast is regarded as a reproductive organ due to it's feeding function.

If you are MtF, actually  growing breasts by HRT is unfortunately not sufficient, and SRS is required.  I am not sure of the situation with regard to Orchidectomy however. 

There are a lot of women who cannot afford SRS, even with Medicare, or for whom it is not possible for medical reasons.  This is discriminatory in my book.

But today it is Utopia like world withou money (which is mad idea, but lot of poeople still beleive in it)

Aside from the legal stuff, - in Germany it is a requirement for MtFs to have SRS, not for FtM though, hum...  what on earth would I feel about to present a male suitor with all this unexpected 'extra' ?! No... it just feels undignified - TO ME.

I had such a situation years back, when just that had happened to me, then in boy-guise. It left me sad for the woman and not just a little confused, though empathetic as I recall. She'd also told me I recall: "Oh, MANY men like it..."

Yeah right, it's why those men look for such in the red-light districts like the Reeper Bahn Hamburg, where it happened on a 'Consultant weekend'...

I personally had NO intention ever to become such an 'object of desire' - as without SRS we sure are for some male folks.

I just can't/won't tune into this sort of situation, it be feeling too close to a 'victim of nature'.

I do allow, this to be some emotional limitation of mine, but so it is.

To hand a genuinely interested, nice and caring male such a surprise package is just beyond my imagination and emotional ability.

Thankfully I could do something about it. It'd simply feel like a woman without a vagina otherwise, which can be a birth defect... but to live with such... THAT is another sort of thing, and just not given to everyone.

It's a different question for FtM than MtF. Like, can you surgically give me a decently-formed penis and scrotum with any amount of money? For one thing, I can't attain proper physiological manhood. It would be unfair to punish me for that. Two, my "dick" is teeny tiny, can't hurt anybody, and even if most people's rape fears are imagined, the fact is I simply cannot injure anyone with my genitals. I think cispeople's issue with us is often rooted in misguided fears about sexual predators.


Anyway my answer is no. Who you are is who you've always been. It isn't your fault that others couldn't always see it. I wish I could apologize to all of us for the ignorance of the rest of the world.


When I get up the money (5k?) for top surgery I intend to file to change my Texas birth certificate.

I don't believe it should because many folks do not have SRS surgery.

The answer is NO as long as you've done the standard "RLT" and seen the usual psych's and doc's,
There are alot of people that for health reasons, money problems will never get SRS and shouldn't be punished for there misfortune, and continue to have mismatched documents because a stupid gender maker on a birth certificate,

Here in Aus I thought you were allow to change it after a orchi as your removing the reproduction part or the body or that's what I was told years ago, but then there are problems when/if you choose SRS down the road...
But for some that want to change genders to hide there shameful past they shouldn't be given the right as they lost there rights when they committed there crime..... 
If I could correct the gender maker on my birth certificate with out SRS id do it in a heart beat it would make life that much easier, but then where would the fun be arguing with stupid government departments or other organisations why they discriminate on gender....

I think that gender should be incorporated as a temporary matter per the child and his/her parents petition at any time, and then reconfirmed when the child becomes an adult (18YO).

Throughout adulthood the gender choice should be changed at the will of the individual. Just like changing names, right?

It is a basic inalienable right for any human to have the freedom to choose a gender, many genders, or no gender.


SRS should have to do nothing with anything, just like any plastic or corrective surgery
