So Ive been on the fence for a while now on what i should do. I have acknowledged that im not comfortable in my body, and i feel like hair should be one of the first steps. So Ive decided to get rid of it. Im going to start off by looking more androgynous, and see if i want to stay there, or go further. Only problem is i have lots of hair. In hard to reach places:/  I have sensitive skin and razors would destroy me. What method would yall say is good for now, for experimentation with my look?
Oh and if its not obvious, im male, looking to feminize.

For a long tome i thought it was unfair how cursed i was with dense black hairs on  almost every part of my body.
Even to this day i still grow a lot of hair and 2 days away from being 1 year on estrogen and spiro.
I started at 17 so it was very effective and i have noticed a difference but no magic miracle that got rid of it.

Theres nothing you can do until you can afford laser hair removal because hormones didnt get rid of it.
Waxing would be the best method but that can be expensive when you are very hairy, so i just suck it up and shave it all.
I'm careful because i have sensitive skin too and prone to ingrown hairs and razor bumps. I know how painful they can be, trust me.

I use a good razor and good shaving cream.
Venus razors are best for me and i use skintimate shaving gel lol and i get to work taking all that hair off.

You can use something like Veet on the super hairy areas,  and then shave once it starts growing back because depilatory creams dont work on stubble.

You can look into epilators too, they work and have the same effect as waxing.
If the hair is pulled out from the root it will grow  back slower.
The only con to epilators is that it can be painful. Definitely the most painful hair removal method lol.
And you also have to get a good epilator! Not a crappy one!

As your hair starts to grow more slowly the epilating hurts less, until its just a minor irritation.

I'm all on the epilator bandwagon, too. They hurt like no other, especially at first, but it lasts a lot longer than shaving. Shaving only lasts a day for my legs, so an epilator was a one-time purchase I don't regret at all. I bought one of the Silk-epils and love it.

Also, big bonus for no stubble.

I've got enough body hair for any three people - except of course on my head - but that's another story.

If I let it get out of hand on my body I will use something like Veet on the bad areas as well.  As per above, I don't have much luck on stubble - in fact if I try and use it on areas where the hair hasn't grown out some I end up with severe skin irritation.

Thanks for all the advice. Im gonna look into epilators. I have a very high pain tolerance. So i should be ok. Ive passe by veet so many times at the chemist. Looked straight at it, and walked away. This is still new to me.

Has anyone had success with one of the home laser treatments?

I was kinda researching a Tria, the other day, and most of the reviews seemed hit and miss: some folks having success (to varying degrees) while others say it's a crock.

I told one of my ev girlfriends. Its funny cuase she was always into me because i didnt think like a guy. Well to say it didnt come as a shock to her is an understatement. In fact she was waiting for me to tell her.
Anyway, turns out she used to be part of a swimming team in high school. there were a lot of the males had to use niar on themselves so they could glide through the water.
Whats weird is shes kind of takin it upon herself to teach me womanhood.  dont know how i feel about that. Ive kinda instantly been freind zoned with most of the girls in my life now. and while they treat me alot nicer...Its uhh...Concerning, becuase i can only see myself in a relationship with a girl.

I did buy some nair though:) And while its kinda unpleasant and stings a bit, it felt like washing away years of living in the wrong body. i think in a few more tries and ill have it learned.

You are absolutely correct about that feeling of washing away the wrong body... it's a totally different feeling to be smooth. Every sensation is keyed up an octave, or two.

 I should probably do the Veet/Nair thing, but my solution is to simply shave whatever's visible based on what I'm wearing, and to hell with anything else. To minimize the annoyingness of this ritual, I don't show much skin, and I rarely go outside. 

... Eventually I'll save up for electrolysis or laser, but that seems like a pretty long-term goal at the moment.

Forget it. It will be a total waste of money. It has no where near the power to work on anything like 'male' hair. Some of the Asian girls have had success and  Isuspect they have lighter hair cover with quite dark melanin that works very well with laser.

To put it in perspective when I had my face done they were using 28joules per 0.5cm. The personal lasers don't get anywhere near that. I took about 9 sessions to do my face and that took about a year.

High power lasers run by professionals is the way to go, also forget the beautician IPL lasers they don't have the umpf. Look for a place that deals with POCS woman. They have the lasers and the care you need. And don't be nervous. I was the first TG person they had worked on and they were very supportive and very lovely and helped with lots of issues about skin care and make up etc. I was never in anyway embarrassed.

Point taken on the power output. but the triva has a smaller aperture so less energy is needed. you'll just have to zap a lot more smaller patches than the pro units.
Never the less, due to extremely limited income ( disability) there's no way i could afford laser treatments.
Or Treatments of any kind for that matter.
Gender change seems to be limited to the wealthy.

I know how you feel, but I think you're still better off saving your money. Lower aperture doesn't really increase the power for what we're talking about. It does mean you'll have to do more 'zaps,' but they likely won't be very effective.

I totally understand your problem. But the  Tria home laser system will not do anything to 'male' density hair. IPL laser will do basically nothing, that is what they use in many beauticians. You need the high power systems.

To put in perspective. The high power lasers cost about $250,000. It took about 9 sessions for one on the highest level I could stand to clear my face. The sessions were 6 weeks apart.

You can not do that with home lasers.
