Hi all!

I just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. After years of trying to get by in life by simply gritting my teeth and resigning myself to being uncomfortable in my own skin, I've only recently found enough strength and self-acceptance to come out to my friends and family and begin the process of becoming the awesome lady I've always wanted to be. I'm hoping to start on hormones before too long, though it looks like I'm going to have to wait a bit more for that, as my partner and I would really like to have a baby before I lose the ability to contribute to that process.

I'm here because while I've got lots of wonderful and supportive friends, all of my trans* friends are guys! (For some reason there seem to be a lot of trans guys in the Jewish community, but very few trans women) So I thought it would be nice to connect with some folks who've had some of the same experiences.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

Does that mean you're thinking of converting? If so, wishing you every success on your journey. I'm a Jew-by-choice as well. The jury's still out on whether my parents were more traumatized by me saying I was female or that I was becoming Jewish.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! It's exciting to have a group I can share experiences with.

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in and start talking.

So pleased you have such an understanding and supportive partner. She may be interested in the Significant Others section that we have here for those ultra supportive people. may be some answers or other useful information for her there. I honestly believe, SO are the unsung hero's of our community. Often they struggle to understand, what we've know about all along. Can't be easy for them.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.
