i was thinking about the idea of eternal nothingless after death and it quite scary , moreso because of the feat that ill never trully be happy in this life becuase of GID and many other issues

id hate to think my only existance  and experience of reality would be one of unhapyness

Happiness is knowing who you are not forcing others to know by some outward look

remember all of us knew who we were before we did one thing..

Keep that thought and be happy because you unlike so many others never find that out 

I am not a Christian any more but I get a bit concerned when anyone posts anything about their worries over eternity, and where it might lead them.

If you are a Christian, then faith = salvation.  Nothing more to worry about, so live a good life.
As an Atheist Existentialist  ( I accept that I was not always so and  that my position could change here too)I believe life has no intrinsic meaning, instead we give it whatever meaning we desire. 
Mine involves living an authentic life, and being responsible for every action I take  and decision I make.  If I don't get the desired result I won't feel guilt, just decide whether I am happy enough with it anyway, and if not try again.
It is also possible to be a Christian Existentialist by, as I understand it, drawing your own conclusions about God at any given moment, and trying to live within them.  If you don't quite make it at any given time, accept that God will understand and have another go.

There are no guarantees in our lives, but that means we can go easy on ourselves too, the same as we would with a friend we were trying to encourage.

Hope some of that makes sense for you. Never give up, because while tomorrow could be lousy, it might be a great day instead.   It really is up to each of us.

My faith tradition is more or less agnostic when it comes to the afterlife. It's comforting to hope that people we've lost continue on in some way after they're gone, but my advice would be that whatever happens to us once we've left this world, losing hope of happiness and fulfillment while we're here is never a good thing.

If there's one thing we know about this life, it's that things change constantly and often in surprising ways. For some, that can cause feelings of insecurity and fear, but it can also be a source of hope and possibility as well.

I've had it suggested to me to "live your life so that people will be sad when you're gone." Be kind, be gentle, be content with yourself.

Death is (imho) merely a transition from one form to another, and I believe that "time" does not exist (or is not relevant) at the spiritual level.

But, yours is a unique journey. Everyone faces their own mortality in their own way.

Last time it happened to I ended in a psychiatry unit. It usually haunted me from time and tried to not to think about it, but at a given time it became so obsessive that it turned into depression and anxiety.


It still finds me from time, specially at night. Since then, I cannot sleep without a handheld console or a book on the night stand, just in case the thoughts come back, to distract myself and quickly forget about them.
