I'm about a week and a half out from my first appointment with my gender therapist.  All kinds of worries and doubt are tearing through my mind!  It has been a hard 6 months.  I can out to my wife in February.  She has not taken it well and has been using her faith as a crutch and attacking tool.  Things have been fine for about a week now, but I know that things will get stirred up again once I go to my therapy appointment.  On top of that, I'm also worried about how I look.  I've been really down on myself lately.  I've been on finasteride for like 2 months.  I know it's too early to notice any affects, but I'm so worried its not going to be very effective.  I'm also thinking about HRT and worrying about it not working since I'm almost 29.  I'm really sad and upset right now.  I feel I have no one who cares to listen to me!  I'm so worried about my wife leaving me and then the pills not changing me enough to make it worth while!  Then what will it have been for?  Sorry to be so dramatic; I'm just not in a very cheery spot right now...

I started taking spiro, estrogen, and progesterone 3 months before my 42nd birthday. Now, at 14 months HRT, I almost have aa-cup breasts forming. I have visible cleavage, and I've been told my face is rounder now (I haven't noticed this myself).

It was probably 5 months on the above combination before I started seeing cleavage. At that point, it was leaning forward with the weight of C-cup breastforms glued to my chest. But also, the above combination started making my nipples sore at about 3-4 weeks.

I had been married for about 21 years when I came out to my wife. Last September, we celebrated what we knew would be our 23rd and final anniversary. So, I can appreciate the anxiety around transitioning while married.

First of all what changes are you hoping for with finasteride? That drug alone isn't suppose to change you.

Second off I would like to know what exactly you would like to gain with estrogen? What happens if.it DOES NOT change you?

Thirdly, I'm approaching 1 year on estrogen. I started 2 months before my 29th birthday and I pass with a small b cup. I have changed dramatically since I started hrt. Later, I may post photos showing my monthly progress. Your age shouldn't kill your hopes as long as your expectations aren't ridiculous.

I'm taking the finasteride for possible hair regrowth.  Not expecting any feminizing from it.  I really want the estrogen to soften my skin and make my male traits less apparent.  I'd like to develop a bit of chest, butt, and hips, too.  I really hope it cuts down on the amount of body hair I have too.  I'm just worried with me being my age that the effects will be very minimal.  I don't know what I'd do if I can't transition well and no longer have anybody in my life... But I can't go on like this, either!

you can always get hip implants with dr chugay if you dont get big enough ones with HRT

Give the Finasteride some time. They say you need to be on it for a year before determining if it's going to regrow any hair. Not only that, but there's often an initial shedding phase where you will lose hair for a few months before regrowing any. I went through it but after a few months it came back MUCH thicker than ever.

Estrogen should do that, to what extent is dependent on your body, not so much your age. True you'd see more change if you start in your teens but there are PLENTY of girls that started later in life and look completely fine.  As far as body hair, that's going to take a year or two. I was pretty hairy and it's dwindling, but I still have to shave everything.

Like I've said, I started at your age and I have no trouble passing at all. You really shouldn't let that work you up, or your hair is gonna fall out!!

And in my avatar, I'm wearing just enough makeup to even out my skin tone. No lip gloss, no eye makeup, no blush, just light foundation and a tiny bit of concealer. I didn't even do under my eyes with concealer. Granted, this was the perfect time after my laser to where I was hairless and didn't need concealer to cover the shadow... but very little was done to feminize my face.

You have to keep in mind that we are our own worst enemies.  My friends can't see the beard shadow that I know I have, so don't be too hard on yourself.
