My only previous experience of private treatment here in the U.K was in 2003 with Dr Russell Reid who I found to be excellent and he helped me more than anyone else but sadly he retired in 2006.

I'm interested to hear from any girls here from the U.K who are undergoing private treatment and I would like to know what kind of private treatment is available and who do you see? and do they have their own endocrinologist?

Hello

I use Dr Curtis in london, who I beleive trained under Dr Reid, his in central London and the clinics name is Transhealth. His very good and Ive always found him very easy to talk to. When I go there I get sent across the road to a place that takes blood in the morning, and then when I have my appointment in the afternoon he has all the results.

Hope this is some help

I've been treated by Dr Curtis as well http://www.transhealth.co.uk/. He took over Dr Reid's practice.

I think one of the CX doctors runs a private practice too but I haven't heard of anyone who's been there. Likewise the Albany clinic in Manchester.

I've found Dr Curtis to be an excellent practitioner who's smoothed the way for me right through transition. He is able to prescribe (and sell) hormones etc. The Transhealth clinic also has specialist councelling and hair removal services. Recommend.

The Albany Clinic is derived from an organisation called 'Transformation' and   I first contacted The Albany Clinic in 1990 when I was looking to start out on my transition.  They are also very expensive and I'm not sure if they are still going.

I am aware that some CX psychiatrists do private work but that doesn't interest me. I have too many bad memories of my experiences at CX.

I know of Dr Curtis and he is qualified as a GP but is not a psychiatrist. He is very expensive and I would only be interested in whether he has an endocrinologist in house or not?

I saw Dr Perring last year in London, he was pretty sound.

I know of Dr Perring and have heard excellent reports about him and know he can make GRS referrals but I was primarily looking for an endocrinologist that I can see on a regular basis.
