My thoughts have always been that I will be able to afford to have FFS in 12-18months.At which point I would then live full-time including my job (of course) for the required amount of time then complete the surgical side of transition with SRS.
That is until a recent conversation with my wife.She stated that she thinks I might do better to have the SRS first.Her reasoning is that that way I will have an overall more feminine look and therefore will more than likely evolve in my transition more evenly.
After being on HRT for just a little more than 12months I have more feminine characteristics..Though far from pretty.And my feminine soul has surfaced true to life.I am woman and long to live unhindered accordingly.
Do you think this approach would be totally wrong?What are some of the hidden pitfalls do you think?Any feedback will be taken and digested.Please be as gentle as possible though.But honest.
My next appointment with my therapist I will put the question to her but I wanted your views first.

Your choice is your own, of course. For myself, since I don't have a horrible case of penis-loathing, and I too am "far from pretty", I'm thinking FFS first and SRS next.

My reasoning is that more people will see my face than my cooter, so going about in public will be easier...and I know that I will get SRS in the future, so that's a given.

But, if I get SRS first, I might decide to accept my less-than-gorgeous face and just forego the FFS.

I need both.

I am in agreement with Beth. To me SRS is low down on my to-do list. While I may wish I was never born with it, I do not hate having my penis. Even in my younger days SRS was never a priority item. Like, no body is going to be doing a panty check (except perhaps a TSA agent  ) My main focus has and is to be seen and treated as  a female.
