Hi all,

In the last few days I have seen topics about laser hair removal but I do not want to hijack them.

I hope to book an appointment in London tomorrow for hair removal on the face, but there are a few thingsI am wondering about.
If I have my first session on Friday, how long generally does it take for the face to heal/look normal on white pale skin with dark facial hair. I'm thinking Friday as next Monday is bank holiday, meaning a nice 3 days of work.

Also have a very hairy chest. I don't know whether to get a couple of sessions done on it. Has anyone on here had a very hairy chest and been on estrogen only, and seen results.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks.

I had my first treatment almost 3 weeks ago, you can see from my avi I'm light skinned w/ medium dark brown hair. The first week & a half the hair follicles on my face were a bit swollen like goosebumps & a little sore/sensitive with minor redness. But after about 2 weeks my face went back to normal. I was scared about how I would look after treatment but it wasn't that bad, make up easily covered the redness. But as most people say everyone reacts differently.

I don't think you will find that it's the same for everyone. My first three treatments my face broke out in like a almost acne like way fashion for like a week and a half. Don't let that discourage you though its totally worth it I have almost zero hair on my neck now and my face is about 55% clear

I had a lot of chest and stomach hair before HRT. I could see a  noticeable reduction after six months. Around a 90% reduction after two years. After about five years, I would see occasional hairs pop up. Now, going into ten years on HRT and being post-op for  five years, the chest and stomach hairs are gone.   I did not spend a single penny (except for HRT which and SRS which I would have done anyway) on body hair removal. Today, the hair I have left on my body is what a typical genetic northern European female would have.

After my first session I basically just tried to rub as much aloe into my face as possible for the next 8 hours.  Visually it was fine, just very tender to the touch. I've never had any redness or puffyness last more than an hour.  I also have light skin and dark hair.  8 regular sessions and 2 maintenance sessions later all is pretty well, hrt seems to have slowed the inbetween regrowth (of what little is left). Of course, YMMV.

I used sk!n clinics in london and the tech's vary in skill and experience.  Now I have a really good one and only book sessions with her.

Good luck with it! The first session for me was by far the worst :)
