Had my second laser session today on my very stubborn and might I add.. THICK beard.. OMGthis round I didn't have any numbing ointment and holly hell did I get a morning wake up!  Seriously was much more intense that round one. I felt like someone was jabbing hot pins into my face, my skin looked.. and still looks normal so nothing on top, just the slightl linger of a tingle.  Anyone else have this much fun with your treatments?

Yeah, today. I started to question if I had the guts to go with all the transition stuff, sweating and whipping tears.


Looks like the made a mistake when telling me and I should have shaved the day before to make it less painful. On the good side, I only have thick beard on the chin and neck.

Penny, did you noticed something similar?

I realised that being a motorcyclist I could wear an open face helmet to and from The Zapper and my face would cool down from the wind chill by the time I got home.  Any cyclists here should be able to use the same idea.
I also wore my summer H-D mesh jacket when I had my chest and stomach done.

No I didn't have anything like that.. the worst so far were a few pimples last time and not being able to shave for about three days because my face was bumpy and sore.  This time hurt way more but it looks like my skin bounced back pretty well.  I know she said she had set the machine to '7' this round... my knees were shaking so much and I was doing my best to hold through so I didn't even bother to ask what it went up to!

Dunno, they look more like transparent blisters, as if the laser was maybe too hot for that area. It's been roughly 25 hours. Rest of the face is doing quite OK, but having those three grey protuberances there... I hope they dissapear soon.

I had such blisters - on my legs and less on my face too... very nasty and it took some time to heal.

Not sure where they happened with you, but it OFTEN is a case of too little cooling for the energy used --- and since it's your face, also a case where there was more sun-exposure i.e. more Melamine found for the laser to 'think' it was HAIR.

If the cooling gel and head-cooling of the laser gun was all OK, one can feel that... the energy setting was too high for the skin-type selected.

I was told that the first time was the worst
but the second session for sure topped it lol


an added bonus to being hairless is your skin will look AMAZING.
The laser does great things to your pores

I can understand that girls, I still remember my 7 sessions of IPL/diode laser... *shudders*

Apples you may want to consult your doc as soon as you can - although she would probably suggest Aloe-vera gel which is one of the best for it, but don't wait just to be on the safe side.

Always keep sufficient moisturizer, sunblock and aloe-vera gel ready if you're doing laser.

my first session in 1 year is tommorrow... and I am terrified (got pushed to Saturday from Tuesday - please pray for me  )

Problem is that everything is closed now due to local festivities. I might go tomorrow to a pharmacy and see if they can recommend me something.

*Digs up huge bag of cream/meds for laser burns*  - got more than my share of them

look for Hydroquinone cream and aloe-vera gel

maybe Clindamycin Phosphate & Nicotamide gel - although am not sure about this one.

Nah, I found I already have one for the last time somebody got a serious burn at home. Suniderm or something like that. We have been using every time somebody tried to jump over embers.

Got my laser done today...

the place was amazingly professional... and am very happy with my first session...  and can't wait to see the results.

but OMG! if you though IPL or diode lasers were painful try an Nd Yag machine!!!

it should be more effective for my skin - but the pain!!! - I don't think I can do a full body version!!!

I was reading the the Nd Yag was supposed to be more intense than the diode type that I was using.  But you should see results faster!  I know I just kept telling myself.. "I never have to shave again..." that was enough motivation to bear through it.

I just want the hair to start shedding already... C'mon, I have a wig to try with a clean face.

I'm almost 2 weeks since my first session. I've had some shedding (scattered or in patches) but the most noticeable thing is my facial hair has gotten thinner and growing at a very slow pace. They said it takes about 1-2 weeks to even start to notice any changes so I figured its going as planned. Its all patience and persistence.

MMm... I don't know if it is getting worse or better...





Now they can easily noticed, really red.

and also stop using Suniderm - it seems to be making things worse.

you may want to visit/call or speak to the place where you did your laser immediately.
