how many of you guys have or are actually going bald? and can what type of T have an affect?

You're not going to lose your hair from testosterone by on it's own.
You have to also have a some sort of genetic predispostion for male pattern baldness.

that's great to hear,
looks like i'll be fine, my father is in his 50's and he doesn't even have a reciding hairline or even thinning hair :)

Little problem though. You really have to look at your mother's side of the family too. Male Pattern baldness is linked to the X chromosome, not the Y. And since you (maybe) have two X chromosomes (and who the heck really knows what they have), you most likely have to look to both sides of the family. Sorry.

all is good on that side  too, we are all hairy in my family, i've only been on T for 2 weeks and i have started growing facial and body hair.

the Gorillaization has begun ;D :P

I'm thinning at the front at just 7 months on T - albeit, baldness runs in my mother's side and I'm 33.

thats one thing i am worried about when i eventually get to start T is baldness since it usually goes from the moms side of the family and my mom is adopted i have no idea what to expect.

In transguys it may be BOTH sides of the family since you (presumably) have two X chromosomes (you actually may not but I digress). Anyway, there is more difficulty as it is not a one to one correspondence. Mom's dad might be bald say, but your brother is not. It guess it is dominant but I have no idea really.

yeah for me my dad is going bald but my grandpa on my dads side isn't at all even gray even though he's in his 70's with a full head of hair. lol guess you will just have to grow up to find out

I'm going bald. It just started out with thinning hair at the front but now I have an almost completely bald spot at the top/back of my head. That was when I decided to cut off all my hair, plus it got to the point where I couldn't manage it. It sucks because I'll now need a wig if I ever decide to feminize myself. Wish there was a way to reverse it that didn't cost an arm and a leg.

Mmm...me too but I didn't know you were attracted to men! lol

T can definitely contribute to male pattern baldness if you have a predisposition for it.  My hairline is receding but it's just a more masculine hairline rather than going bald.  Crown is still good, the woman who cuts my hair assures me I'm not balding.  My dad is basically bald but my mom's side has great hair.  If I lose it all..I won't be happy but I'll deal with it.

Wait what?
Being that I want to be a female and most females don't normally go bald like men do it ends up being just another hurdle to overcome for becoming a woman if I decide to actually go through with it. I only identify as a guy because at the moment, legally, that is what I am. But honestly I'm in that confused state. I'd say 60% female and the rest male, a mental hermaphrodite. But certain things in my life like my wife and kids makes transitioning a very very difficult decision to make. Male or Female I enjoyed having long hair and wanted to grow it down past the middle of my back but 32 years and bad genes took over and hair became a curse so I cut it off so I didn't have to go through an hourly ritual of brushing out painful rats that were like somebody superglued my hair, not to mention the bald spots just didn't look right.

You should put up your gender marker.
I'm sorry for confusing you as male, but being the topic is targeted towards FTMs, I wouldn't know you were a FTM contributing poster unless I had followed some of your posts beforehand.
My apologies though.
