ok, dunno why, maybe its the pain in my chest right now, but its been bothering me. has anyone else besides me come to regret a tattoo, or wear they got it, after starting hrt. I have a Chinese dragon that runs of my side, and his head ends just about 2 inches below my areola.  for some reason, im terrified at some point this tattoo will get ruined,  whats the odds you think the dragon will just slope up my breast as it expands, and sit on the tissue, or will the skin roll over and cover him up?   sorry if its such a mundane worry.  ???

also, just to affirm im not going crazy, and that my BFF isnt blowing smoke up my butt. do you see any changes? *self astem issues*

I think tatoos are going out of style. I don't see any tattoos on the young Berkeley students and, of course, trends start in California.

To the question at hand, Teela I don't have any experience with this sort of situation. My guess is that the tattoo would expand as the skin stretches.

I have a tat in the centre of my chest, and it's starting to "saddle up" and become 3D now :). Just go with it, curves make them more interesting.

As for changes, it's a bit hard to tell, but in the more recent pic you certainly look more relaxed.

I'd like to think so also. I love that tattoo, so im praying it just gets pulled up over the breast as the tissue forms.  ill have to ask my doc his opinion when I see him again in october

@padma, thanks, I definitely feel more relaxed, or comfy with myself. Still constantly high strung, but the HRT has helped me reach a small measure of peace, and come out of my withdrawn shell abit

It takes time for HRT to take effect and everyone's timeline and results are different  :)  I good idea is to take a few pic.s every month and make your own personal comparisons of your changes about every three months to check your progress

I wouldn't worry too much about the tattoo, it may distort a little but not enough to really worry about imo

I dont think you have to worry about it getting ruined so far mine has stayed the exact same. I went from 180 pounds of muscle to 155 & shrinking lol.

I regret mine at times I got it last year it's a raiders/pirate theme the inside of my arm is a Skelton pirate steering a pirate ship with black sails. Outside is a modified raiders skull shield with "black & silver" in script above back ground has a compass and a bottle of rum.

Reason why I hate it now is that is on my sleeve and if I wear tank tops it's noticeable big time! I told myself I would never get a tattoo in my head just because one day I told myself when I get the courage I'll transition. Last year I really thought I got over it but we all know how that works. Haha.

Here's a couple pictures from when I first got it.

Hi Teela,
Your face is looking much more feminine. Great hair, will look lovely as it grows out. As long as your breast growth is at a natural pace, it shouldn't distort your tattoo much, though everyone's skin is different. Here's a pic showing how a tattoo changes with a much more rapid skin stretching (zero to full term pregnancy in 9 months or less:

I dont regret mine, Im just questioning how stupid it was to place it where I got it,  I got 8 tats all together.    the one on my stomach, the dragon on my chest/ribs.  a lotus flower with eagles feathers on my back, some kanji that says "make the change live the dream" down my back.             notical star on my wrist, and a native american mask on my left arm and a wolf paw.    and a elm tree leaf on my collar bone.  im a huge tattoo junkie  ;D

thanks     I gotta darken the front tho, my work said it was to bright, they agreed to let me keep it as long as I tone it down a few shades.  and they are totally cool with my transition, so they even are letting me grow it out.   I guess if he gets messed up, my tat artist is going to have a fun job of trying to think of somthing to fix it, or cover it with.            Definiatly know, when I start the RLT.  im getting some leopard spots, to show I earned my spots.  :P      but its late and I gotta catch some z's before work.   thanks for the input and g night. nice meeting you all.

I love the tattoo because it's me in a nutshell a raiders fan and a pirate junkie. I honestly think I was Pirate in my past life :p

I agree I think tattoos are super hot I just don't think my sleeve was a good idea for career aspects. Tattoos are getting more and more accepted but still we have a ways to go.

You are a junkie! :))))

I love tattoos too. I'd like to get a pirate ship sailing; down the side of my rib cage someday. My next tattoo will be a "black bird" on the side of my abs a year after I've been living as me for awhile as a symbolizing of my transition.

im a housekeeper at a native casino/resort.  So tats dont disrupt my career field much.  And after starting HRT, I lost intrest in college. I got no idea what id want to pursue anymore. I'll have to soul search that fish bowl when im full time, and got a better handle on myself and my feelings. college scares me at the moment, refuse to even consider going till im full time. dont want any transition drama.

tattoo parlour in my town has a line of unemployed social security scroungers lining up every Saturday morning adn they are really busy the rest of the week - trouble is that lots get name of latest lover and then turn up at doctors asking for them to be removed free.    there shoudl eb a cooling off period for anyone getting a tattoo in  avisible place or of name of present lover.

The tattoo parlor by me, makes you wear your tattoo as a temp for a month before they will do it.  kinda cool idea in my opinion. best part it helps you truely experiment with where you want it.
